I know. Blegh. But my numbers are far worse... and there are far more 4.0/171s that get into YS than splitters, so I'm sure there will be more spots for you to potentially snatch up. Best of luck.

If you have a 172+, you're not a retaker, and have reasonable softs then I think you have a strong chance. Don't lose hope. I'm sure there are a lot of spots that still need to be filled.
I think if I was all those things then I'd be in already

Yeah, as futile and stupid as it may seem, with every TLSer that gets in it makes me feel like they're digging deep into the WL and I have a chance. I'm trying to spread my hopefulness.

So I've sent in my last letter of continued interest after being waitlisted.

What else can I do to be proactive on the waitlist?

I'm planning on sending them legal briefs wherein I profess my undying love. :D
...seriously though, what else is there to do that won't be creepy (camping out in front of the law school, sending them your ear in a box)?

Are you referencing the Family Guy portrayal of Van Gogh's gift?

Actually, I was only thinking of Van Gogh when I wrote this, but I do love Family Guy! :D

--Oh, also I'm finally getting around to sending in a LOCI  , and I need to know: attachment, or body of e-mail? I'm assuming the later but want to be sure...

I recently saw it so it was on my mind. Unfortunately YouTube only has the clip in Italian with a really annoying intro. And this is pretty much why I will not get into Harvard. Or Magic H as I've taken to calling it.

I definitely say you should do snail mail, just overnight it and ask for confirmation.

Wait, really? Does Harvard really prefer hard copy that much?

I had one LOR-er email so it would get their quicker and they said they were unable to accept LORs via email. Gotta give 'em the hardcopy, c'est la vie. Or better, c'est la H.

I sent my second LOCI...all of these accepts while I'm happy for them, I can feel my soul dying a little each time. Every morning (I live in Asia) I wake up heart pounding, hoping for a JR1 e-mail. So when do we think this first wave is over? This week?

It probably is. I called on tuesday to get my account info over the phone and one of the admissions staff told me that I had to wait until Thursday, after they had admitted the "first batch of new admits".

I never had a confirmation for my hard-copy LOCI.
Did anyone else send a paper copy and get a confirmation?

I got *delivery* confirmation, but that's not the same as word from the Office of Admissions .

First batch of new admits by Thursday, eh? I imagine that's all wrapped up now then.

What does that even mean? That they used this first batch to fill the class, and that any other WL admits will be from late WD or some other late unexpected situation? Or that they're goign to have a few more subsequent, but smaller, batches?

I saw the admissions director for Illinois posting in that thread specifically about how there were more deposits than expected, that the class is full, and that while she expects some WL movement due to people dropping off, there won't be as much as intended. It's at least something.

Any kind of transparency at this point would be extremely helpful.

So true. What shall we do to pass the time and push down our angst? I tell myself that I only come on here for the social aspect.

They gave the new Waitlist-accepted people 2 weeks to decide.... or does this mean that they are talking to everyone by Thursday?

Who knows. I thought this new administration was all about more transparency.

Do you have to take the LSAT to get on the Harvard Waitlist? I have always wanted to go to Harvard to study something.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
