Re: Harvard 2010!
So if you were offered a JR1, you received the complete email after the interview was conducted, right?
And me receiving the complete email now, before a JR1 email means im held or rejected? This, of course, would not surprise me given my stats. I just want to know!

Re: Harvard 2010!
I went Under Review, then I got a request for a phone interview, then I got a complete email.
However, I know others got the interview request after their complete email (sometimes up to several months after). I do not know which is more common.

Re: Harvard 2010!
I've been under review for about a week and a half. From what I've gathered (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong), people are under review for a few (maybe 2-4) weeks before recieving something. that could be a hold, rejection, or a interview request. Thats just anecdotal though. If someone else's experience was different, please share.CanadianEH wrote:How long are people usually UR for? edit: nevermind, i think im wrong. I've also decided trying to figure out the timing of your application based on other people's never works.

Re: Harvard 2010!
Been following this for a while. Most people who get a JR1 email get it before or immediately after their complete email, but plenty of others have gotten it weeks or months after. FWIW I got a complete email about a month ago and I haven't given up hope. Sure there have been rounds of JR1s that included people who applied after me, but each of those rounds has also included people who submitted before me. Best thing is just to be patient even though this message board makes it almost impossible.

Re: Harvard 2010!
It's often longer than that. I'm not going to look this up but I think holds and rejections just started in the past week or two, beginning with the absolute earliest applicants, and are slowly "catching up" to where we're at in the cycle. As far as I know, people who submitted in November or later, and haven't done an interview, are still in the dark.julesm2200 wrote:I've been under review for about a week and a half. Re: Harvard 2010!
I believe you're almost my numbers twin. They must hate us people with >25th% GPA's and >75th% LSATs this cycle, with the holds they've been giving people and now this. I hope JR realizes that my condition is destroying my body because of my impatience during this wait! Getting a cortisone injection in my wrist soon because of it. Maybe I can guilt him into hurrying up and letting me in. I'm kidding of course about that last part.nattybro wrote:Been following this for a while. Re: Harvard 2010!
so for a given UR date: first come acceptances, then holds, and then rejections? For example, UR first week november people getting held will be notified before people getting rejected? Is this the pattern?

Re: Harvard 2010!
I don't believe that. How could he say that there are 15 spots left before he has received all of the deposits? That number doesn't make sense.dutchstriker wrote:I talked to Josh today and he said there are 15 spots left. Good luck.Kulax22 wrote:OK so I asked this already and got no response![]()
How many offers do you think have been made so far, out of the total amount? 50%??
Any clue how long the Holding List lasts? I'm waiting for a response and I presume I'm probably being held. Is it best to send in a letter of continued interest asap, once you find out you're held? Or do they not even look at your file again until -say- March?

Harvard offers the same amount of people admission each either, not dependent on deposits... probably not 15 spots left, closer to 50.lawapps0502 wrote:I don't believe that. Re: Harvard 2010!
i did some analysis on this question. my methodology was to comb LSN acceptances from the 08/09 cycle. then i scaled them to approximate numbers of admits (ex there were 131 reported admits on LSN, so multiply everything by 800/131 assuming 800 admits). this will give us an estimate of the number of acceptances at each point in the cycle.
i estimate there are still about 100 spots to be given out in february, followed by another 40 or so up until april, then WL hell.

Just trying to understand all the stages of the Harvard review process....When people say their application is "Under Review," is this the same thing as "Under Committee Review" (which is what my status checker says)? Thanks...

Has anyone before UR 11/20 heard back yet (other than accept, of course)? Wondering if they're going in strict order... or if me not hearing back is a bad sign.
