Over GPA 75th, Over LSAT median. NYU is a top choice for me. Thinking of sending a LOCI.

Just got DLS. Anybody know how long it takes to get the actual email? Also how many people who get DLS on Tuesday get WLed?
EDIT: also I didn't get the "be patient" email

I've been UR1 since November and received the "be patient" email. It really can't be that hard to just reject me already

Search the thread for "Jacobson," I think someone reported getting an invite a week or two ago.jpark86 wrote:Any idea when the Jacobson scholarship invites come out?

Best pull in the T14 if I remember correctly. I'll look somewhere but I think I saw like 20% get off the waitlistSusurrus wrote:What are the NYU waitlist numbers like anyways? Promising or no?

For what it's worth, I went DLS on 2/21 and got an email that day with an acceptance message. (I live overseas, so I'm guessing they probably didn't want to call my international number.) I had them send my folks (stateside) the snail mail package.
Does NYU send scholly info with the snail mail package? Or do I have to fill out the FAAPS (great name...) before they send that? (I didn't apply for any named scholarships, but I have >75% on both GPA and LSAT.)

I won't quote it but it was pretty generic, just like "thank you for the email, we will include this update in your file, thanks for your continued interest" (paraphrased).wildquest8200 wrote:can anyone who sent in a why nyu or loci after waiting in review for a while pm me/quote re: response? i think i remember someone saying they got a nice response from the office after sending in a why nyu

I think if you get a Vandy they will notify you independently (not necessarily with acceptance letter), otherwise you have to fill out FAAPS.seeprybyrun wrote:For what it's worth, I went DLS on 2/21 and got an email that day with an acceptance message. Probably just a few. As of last week there was only 1 application left to process and it was processed. And we do stagger invites, as evident from this thread.VA2lawschool wrote:Thanks so much for all of your help/insight! Is it your understanding that there are many more invites to give this week, or just a few?kkdk wrote:Hey folks,
It's my understanding that all RTK interview decisions have been made. That means, we've read all the applications and so if you are still UR, I'm afraid the ship has sailed. Sorry about that, assuming there were still hopefuls.
I cannot confirm this 100%, but I imagine all interview invites have gone out or will have gone out by Friday. We are on Spring Break as of Friday, and while Administrators are on work, things do tend to slow down. So I think it is fair for you to assume that if you haven't gotten an invite this week, the chances you will get an invite have taken a precipitous drop.
I know I'm sharing to bits of harsh news, my intention is to make sure you folks aren't waiting on something and potentially jeopardizing other options at other schools because of this process happening in the dark.
For those that have received an interview invitation, there is a post I have elsewhere giving tips but I'm happy to answer PMs as well.
As an aside, I know a lot of you are still UR. Take this from a 3L: NYU is NOT a big deal. If you have money elsewhere, just take the money and run. Don't pay sticker here. Please. It's not worth the risk or the subsequent hardship. I redouble my advice for those considering public interest. LRAP/IBR are discretionary programs that can be changed/nixed at any moment.
Hang in there, it's all almost over!

Was it mine?
Just kidding. Seriously though thank you so much for providing all of this insight. It makes the waiting game the tiniest bit less stressful, and I'll take whatever minuscule improvements I can get.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
