Hilarious. I've been freaking out even when people I KNOW call my phone, but I'm usually in a rush to get them off you line. You know, in case my call waiting stops working or something... ::derp::stephenholder wrote:Answered an unlisted number just to be safe, let myself get talked into a cable upgrade.
Ha! I also answered an unlisted number today. I was not very polite to the telemarketer on the line...stephenholder wrote:Answered an unlisted number just to be safe, let myself get talked into a cable upgrade.
Thanks for the response.Workingtitle wrote:Honestly, I haven't looked at all the data trends like a lot of people have, but it makes sense to me that as the process unfolds Harvard is putting people in admit, maybe, and rejection piles. Once they get through all their definite admits, then they'll go back and look at the maybes. From that group some will be accepted, some rejected, and some waitlisted. This is totally just what I think makes intuitive sense though.drawstring wrote:What are the chances they're still to get to someone who interviewed a month ago? I feel like a waitlist is in my future........
So what I'm saying is just because you haven't gotten a JS2 yet, doesn't mean you won't get one (we all know that logical fallacy).
Plus, we have seen people who interviewed as far back as 11/11 getting JS2 this cycle, so you still may get one before Christmas.

Worst things have happened I suppose, stephenholder wrote:Answered an unlisted number just to be safe, let myself get talked into a cable upgrade.
It's the worst when they vibrate and it's not a 617 number. Or it is a 617 numbers but it's Environmental Massachusettslawschool22 wrote:My ability to focus on anything other than whether or not my pants are about to start vibrating has dropped to approximately zero now that I know they are into December.
I understand the stress, but congrats on that full ride!IrishJew wrote:This anxiety has made me a monster. I just got a phone call from a lower-ranked school congratulating me on admission and offering a full ride, and all I can think is: "what if JS tries to call while I'm on the phone?!"
Gah. This needs to end.
Thanks. I didn't want my post to sound like "first world problems," haha. I am very excited, and it's a really encouraging sign to know that I'm a sexy candidate. Just annoyed at how waiting for Harvard has taken over my life.Nonconsecutive wrote:I understand the stress, but congrats on that full ride!IrishJew wrote:This anxiety has made me a monster. There will be no holds this year.drawstring wrote:Please phone me JS (and don't tell me I'm held or rejected) !
I didn't read your post that way at all, just wanted to congratulate you and maybe take your mind off the wait for a few seconds. You're in empathetic company here.IrishJew wrote:Thanks. Interesting! Any insight into whether applicants who previously would've been held will just be waitlisted instead or if they simply won't receive a decision of any kind until they receive a final acceptance/rejection?TripTrip wrote:Can't source it because I didn't get the info online. Checking in as well, but went complete on 11/25. Still no JS1 either.GreatExpectations wrote:Checking in! Long time lurker, went complete on 12/5 and still waiting for JS1
Holds were really confusing last year, because nobody really knew what they meant. I would imagine that applicants who otherwise would have been held probably won't be given a A/R/W until they would have without the hold, but perhaps W will be used earlier. I don't really know.koalacity wrote:Interesting!
