I agree. But...if that is the case, and your status has not been updated to Cogratulations/WL (e.g. mine), then it's gotta be a rejection. No?Dani.B wrote:so basically if you didnt get the email and your status checker date is before whatever the latest date was for people who received an email, a decision has been made, you just dont know it yet
Also, I didn't get the email and people that applied weeks after me did.
Oh I don't know =[

Is it possible some early submitters have not gone through one round of review yet, and therefore did not get the e-mail. I don't think Dean Z's blogpost was that helpful but I also think we are jumping to conclusions here thinking no e-mail means decision has been made.I sent an email to everyone who had applied relatively early in the season, so that their file had already had at least one round of review by file readers

Dean Z is amazing. I wonder if she was amused or horrified (or both) by yesterday's mass hysteria. Because you know she saw it.

To be fair, I imagine the hysteria is confined to this little corner of the internet where the propensity for hysterics is highest.crooked wrote:Dean Z is amazing. I wonder if she was amused or horrified (or both) by yesterday's mass hysteria. Because you know she saw it.

It's up. She's basically saying that, barring some technological mixup, we've been slated for either an acceptance or a rejection (not a WL).msblaw89 wrote:@ EMZE

Dean Z is awesome. I really appreciate Michigan's transparency updates and friendliness...even if it does cause mass hysteria.

For all these schools with rolling admissions processes, I feel like they must group applications by the applicants numbers before they go under review (regardless of what the status checker says). I feel like the acceptances I have gotten seem to have always come late, and my application is being treated differently since I am applying on softs. Perhaps they group those of us with borderline and weaker numbers into likely rejects, and then scan through them after the higher numbers piles to pick out the more unique applicants??

Quick question for folks that went complete in early/mid-December. Have you received your status checker yet? I haven't received it yet and would just like to know if this is out of the ordinary. The complete email says to contact the admissions office after six weeks if you haven't received a status checker, so I'm holding off on contacting the

Here it is:
"Dean Z: Unfortunately, I really have no way of knowing. Maybe your idea of “fairly early” is earlier than my idea of “fairly early”; maybe you did get the email but it’s in your spam folder, or there was some other sort of email misfire; or maybe you have been slated for a final decision—either an offer or a denial (not a waitlist, though; those decisions have not yet been made). In the latter event, I’m truly sorry for any anxiety, but anyone who is in queue right now will be processed and notified within a week. "
Edit: If you didn't get the email, you have been "slated" for a decision. If you're status doesn't update in a day or two, I think it's safe to assume you've been dinged =(.

Well.. if a decision has been made, and we still don't have access to the ASW, I imagine that the ding is on the way! She said within a week.

Out of the people without e-mails, there's several with very good numbers. So I wouldn't be worried about our chances just yet. An outright ding for some of these fellows seems highly unlikely.
EDIT:
This is the form again in case anyone needs it
