Applied near Halloweenish and haven't heard a peep from these schools but they've sent out a couple of waves of rejections already.

I was counting on WLs from a lot of places, but instead I have heard nothing from 5/8 apps. I know some schools don't waitlist until later, but I thought some would just get it out of the way.

I know that some schools don't reject until later in the cycle. NYU, for example, doesn't ding until February IIRC

I think we can ignore the crust. A cheesecake has neither flour nor leavening. Surely having at least one of those is necessary (though not sufficient) for a cake.

You apply ASAP. You'd probably be considered "late" but there's been a lot of talk of a counter-cycle this year so it might not work against you.

I don't know what you're talking about, I'm spending all my time defining cheese cakes and other filled crusted deserts because this is my true passion but I could never find employment in it.
