I don't expect it to work any miracles. But I feel like there were too many additions to let Stanford decide without them. We'll see how it goes.

Of course they will say that technically all of us dont have "final decisions" or else we would have gotten decisions. But sure send it in... Can't hurt. Unless it does...porch wrote:I talked to admissions and she got my name dob and lsac number and said yes send it we have not reached a final decision on you yet.helix23 wrote:I hate to be a negative nancy but how effective will a LOCI be at this point, considering we've heard that they've reached their final decisions?

"Hello Stanford admissions! Being that it's our 7 month anniversary since last contact, can I send in a LOCI?"
"Nope, your decision has already been rendered. Don't bother"
"So..did I get in?"

Re: Stanford C/O 2016 Applicants Thread
I actually went in person after the Cal admitted students event. I get the feeling that it's over. They give the canned line about making decisions daily until the 30th, but it seems they're done. Their website states that they give tours and that if you visit you can meet with a member of the admissions staff. I know people who visited and did this some time ago. They're not doing it anymore. I didn't even get the opportunity to give my name so that it would be known that I had come. Needless to say, I was pretty disappointed with my visit. I even made eye contact with Dean Deal through her open door! Thought about just sort of walking in lol but I figured that could be a disaster. Nobody seemed overly busy. I did talk to financial aid though. I wouldn't get any. Berkeley here I come!

Berkeley's awesome!
If SLS is done making decisions what is the delay in actually communicating those decisions to us? I guess they're just sorting a few more applications into the WL or ding pile?

I imagine that's it. There's really no good reason for why they can't notify you as they make the decision though. People keep saying they haven't made them yet, but they aren't going to make ALL the decisions on the day of the wave. It stands to reason that they are basically done and perhaps reviewing a few people stuck between ding and WL.chickpea wrote:Berkeley's awesome!

Yeah Cal is going to be great. Most of the Stanford students I talked to actually thought it was a better place to live. I'm not sure I agree, but it's definitely a great place.

I definitely agree that Cal is in a better location than SLS. Everyone I've met who went to Berkeley is awesome as well. Enjoy!katch wrote:I imagine that's it. Sorry to hear that. Berk will be sick though.onix wrote:just DLS'ed. Oh well, see some of you guys in Boalt.
Do you mean literally "just" DLS'ed? I wonder if this means they are trickling out today instead of a big wave.
Wild speculation: they may literally be making final decisions today and are making decisions realtime as the committee goes through each application for the last time.
Also, when did you submit Onix?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
