Also reserved. I think I'm going to throw the towel in on this one.

Reserved. Want to withdraw but would rather wait it out and get a data point first. Why Cornell when you can Berk? (rhetorical question)

And what is reserve? Similar to a waitlist?

Based on the e-mail, it sounds more similar to a waitlist vs a hold. The former being that they are waiting to see how accepted applicants respond while the latter being that they are waiting to see how their applicant pool looks before making a decision:Unagi wrote:Nothing for me yet....![]()

We are writing to inform you that our Admissions Committee has now reviewed your application as part of our regular application pool and has placed your name on reserve. Although we know that this is not the news you were hoping to receive, please understand that you are still in the running, along with many other fine candidates.
Let us explain our situation. This year we've received a large number of applications for the available spaces in our entering class. Many of these people deserve an offer of admission. Unfortunately, we're not able to admit every deserving person and, since our small class size is such a high priority, we have to be very cautious about the number of offers we make; otherwise, we could end up with an overly large entering class. For this reason, we've set fairly specific target levels for the number of offers we should have outstanding at various points in time. Our several-hundred-person reserve group (of which you are now a part) helps us keep in line with these target levels. Later in the season after we've begun to hear back from people already accepted (usually by mid-to-late May), we decide if further offers are appropriate. If so, we review the files of all reserve applicants and make additional offers. At that point, we also create our official waiting list.
We don't rank people on reserve and we'll be taking at least one more close look at everyone involved. We know you had a prior opportunity to supplement your application, but please feel free to again supplement your application with additional information. Please email us at lawadmit@lawschool.cornell.edu as soon as possible expressing your interest in remaining on reserve. If we do not hear from you by May 14th, we'll assume you've made other plans for next year and will remove your name from reserve.
Thank you for your interest in Cornell Law School and congratulations on your fine record and background. We'll be in touch as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Cornell Law School Admissions

Me too. This pretty much eliminates cornell for me.Virgil777 wrote:Reserve- It looks like a waitlist, it works like a waitlist, it smells like a waitlist- it is a waitlist
Decent people should be told whats up so they can make plans.
Cornell obviously doesn't know how to deal decently with decent people.

Anyone else deferred from EA and only have a 3/1 (no 2/28 etc.)?
