If you take care of them and you rotate them with other pairs, they'll last your entire life and you can pass them on.

Haha fair enough! I'm really rough with shoes, so I refuse to spend more than $30 on anything besides winter boots.

Yeah, and I mean for women's shoes it is different because a lot of them aren't made to last regardless of how much you spend on them. With shoes like Allen Edmonds, you can get the soles replaced once they're worn down and they are basically new shoes.
