Fellas: helix is clearly blue. MOTM seems comfortable enough with himself to be yellow. Rad lulz can be green.

ITT, I reveal that I am still obsessed with PR.

I watched Power Rangers until they took it off ABCFamily here in 2006. Mystic Force was the last season I watched. I should've stopped after Lost Galaxy.

It was nice seeing Tommy again in Dino Thunder tho.

So, if anyone's curious, I called today to see if it was too late to submit any additional materials or a LoCI. The person I talked to said that as long as I am still under review, I can send in more stuff lol. She said that a lot of people were doing that, and she also gave me the 4/30 date for all decisions that was mentioned earlier. I am still going back and forth on if I want to send this LoCI in or not, especially if they're getting a lot of them at this point. But I just thought I'd share that it's still an option.

Hillary doesn't do the typical gendered colors, but we'll make an exception today. Pink it is!

Someone who received a WL notification in the mail, do they ask you to respond? Is there a follow up email? I'm freaking out because they never updated my address in the status checker even though I sent that update like a month ago. Do I pester them with another email so I can be sure that if I have the opportunity for WL, I get to take it?

Yeah, same. I won't be at my mailing address for like the next 3 months. So far, my plan is to send in an email stating I wish to continue to stay on the WL after I receive my DLS notification.

Worst case scenario, they inform me of my ding by email.

They might just think it was ballsy as hell and admit 'em.

Best case scenario: They end up giving their mail man a huge christmas bonus because of their new found respect for his ability to ship out letters minutes after being handed them

they asked for a response by May 15 and I don't know about anyone else, but I didn't get an email follow-up after my DLS, which is why I assumed that I was flat out rejected.

Just sent in a LOCI...six months after the initial application. Short, but with a bunch of updates (update on my EC's, an award, a summer job, and where I deposited, while quickly reiterating my love for Stanford). Can't hurt, right?

Hmm, smart to update at the end. I sent them updates as I got them. Probably hurt me

that assumes two things that are not obviously true: (1) your updates did not already help, sparing you from a DLS by now, (2) sending an LOCI this late isn't too late from the admissions committee's standpoint, and that they continue to re-review applications into mid/late April.

I hate to be a negative nancy but how effective will a LOCI be at this point, considering we've heard that they've reached their final decisions?

how do we know they have already reached their final decisions? didn't they say they would be making decisions until 4/30?

I have a post a page or two back where I pointed out that the LSN acceptances this year are basically the same as last year. That's not to say there won't be a handful of acceptances here and there before 4/30, but it seems pretty unlikely that there's going to be a big admit wave.

As an LOCI sender, I don't think that they have much value beyond showing continued interest. Unless you have a substantial update (major award, publication, etc.), I don't think an LOCI is going to sway the committee one way or the other at this point. It's Stanford. They're going to assume you're still interested.

tl;dr An LOCI won't hurt you, but don't expect it to work any miracles.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
