Rejected via email around 2:00 Pacific Time. Looking at a shutout cycle, let's hope not.. CA, I love you - I thought you did too, why do your law schools care so much about GPA...

Thank you! You are a glimmer of hope in our otherwise doom and gloom outlook in this thread.worldtraveler wrote:Dear neurotic OLs (kidding...sort of)
Don't panic if you haven't heard anything. The same thing happened to me last year. I applied early, and heard NOTHING until February. Other people got sent to fac review, got rejected. I go nothing. Then around Feb 15 I got sent to fac review. There is a second round.
I got in. All was well with the world. Seriously, there is still hope if you haven't heard anything.
p.s. This process makes us neurotic! I blame the system. It couldn't possibly be me

Under review since 11/2. Patience is still running high, but I am not too hopeful. My GPA isn't amazing (below 3.5).doopwooper wrote:I've been under review since 11/2/09...patience is running thin, but I'm not too hopeful. My lsat isnt amazing. (167/3.9)

Re: Berkeley 2010
Eh, I don't even care. Berkeley used to be my #1 choice, but in the meantime I've been accepted by Chicago (which I totally never even dreamed of), and Berk has definitely lost its hold over me. Hear that, Boalt? Even if you accept me, I ain't coming beeeetch!finalaspects wrote:as someone who went UR after you in late Oct, i would say that this is definitely a good sign since i just got rejected. Hrmmm, I'm a little suspect. I'm not sure that any early applicants (like UR 11/9 or earlier) were rejected yet. If someone can prove me wrong, please do!

There are a couple on LSN that report being complete early and have received rejections.Veritas wrote:Hrmmm, I'm a little suspect. I'm not sure that any early applicants (like UR 11/9 or earlier) were rejected yet. If someone can prove me wrong, please do!

Re: Berkeley 2010
Just got back from work and held my breath before opening my e-mail... no rejection e-mail.
Worldtraveler, you give me hope. I really want some more FR e-mails to go out tomorrow. Make it so, Dean Tom! Please, pretty please, make it so.

I couldn't care less about luxury; I do care, however, about safety. The previous poster who said not to malign Bed Stuy is right...it's not a bad place through and through. But you've got to know where to go (and a $700 apartment probably isn't one of those places).englawyer wrote:i wasn't implying that anyone would want to live there, or even should live there. i am just saying there are cheaper options in NYC for a bit of a sacrifice. someone w/ a housing budget of $700 a month can find something reasonable with roommates in a less desirable area.
that said, at some other top schools you can basically live in luxury close to campus. that is a nice benefit, although one i don't particularly care about.
No matter how you couch it, there's no denying that COL in NY is absolutely higher than Berkeley. If you really want, I could show you $450 apartments in Oakland (closer the Berkeley than Bed Stuy is to NYU) that few TLS-ers would want to live in, either. Yes you technically "can" live in NY for $700/month...but with almost all housing opportunities anywhere, you generally get what you pay for.
FWIW I pay 530 a month in a nice part of oakland that is only about 10 min away from campus.(about a 30 min by bike)

Jesus that sucks. At least with your awesome LSAT score (and military experience) you're bound to get into other T14s that aren't such GPA whores.MURPH wrote:Rejected today. Splitter 175,2.98 12 years work/military experience. Congratulations to all who got in.
