Re: University of Florida
Looking at how skin-deep your analysis of my many past posts - which have been amongst the most extensive, well-explained, and well-thought out of this thread - has been, I would think it safe to say that you have problems with developing a proper understanding of a situation and making accurate judgments of people. I have no problem with the way I treat people; you and others have prompted any aggressive responses on my part, as the record clearly shows. Many people have communicated their gratitude to me for the helpfulness of my posts, and I continue to provide forum members with assistance outside of this and other threads. You, on the other hand, hardly sound the least bit mature or even particularly helpful, going by the quality and content of practically all of your posts here, this one included. In any case, hopefully you will overcome your difficulties in these areas, and, in the mean time, refrain from making ill-informed interjections and accusations such as the ones that you have made here.Emma1 wrote:Looking at this post and your many past ones you really have a problem with the way you treat people! I am very much in agreement with the image that JCougar brings up. Please, Emma1, keep your fingers motionless and do not evoke from me yet another obligatory response to your belches of gibberish, if you truly want to bring this thread back on topic as you say you do.

Ugh. Just stop. It's frustrating to those of us who are genuinely interested in the law school when this thread is dominated by bickering and e-cock measuring contests. I'm sure you all have a great grasp of logic and reasoning and will be great debaters someday. But this is not the appropriate place to be Internet tough guys. Please, everyone involved, just stop. If you want to continue, keep it to PMs. Thank you.
Now I'll go back to lurking on this thread...

Calm down, folks - it's dropped. Moving on... If you're going to BU, WhatToDo21, then many congratulations, and I'm all for it - I'd be very tempted to go the Bobby Donnell route rather than the Kevin Lomax one myself, given how many episodes of The Practice I've watched over the last couple of months.

So, I finally sent the application for need-based aid today. Does anyone know the turn-around time for a decision on need-based financial aid?

I sent my need based application on March 15th and I received a letter with my award on April 1st.

I already got a merit scholarship but on the financial aid part of the website they mention merit/need scholarship. I'm hoping to get something along the lines of that. But anyway how much $$$ did u get?

Also, how do they notify you if no need-based aid was awarded? Still via snail mail or email?

DLIT 4/5, rejected today with a 161, 3.47, not URM. Pretty bummed, but still waiting to hear back from some other schools.

If you'll be happy living in Florida after graduation, UF (especially if you are in state)
If you are out of state and want to have the opportunity to live anywhere in the Southeast and beyond after graduation, Emory

+1. We'd need to know a lot more about what you want to do with your degree to give any decent advice on this.ChattTNdt wrote:UFLS2013 wrote:bumpUFLS2013 wrote:UF vs. EMORY both at sticker price........???

It is hard for me to say that I've lost interest in trying to get off UF's waitlist. I had my heart set on UF but my interactions with their admission office did not make me feel very wanted. On the other hand, I have had nothing less than excellent interactions with LSU admissions, and with a half scholly to LSU I really can't see myself accepting an offer from UF at this point.
Best wishes to those still pursuing UF via their waitlist! I'm pretty confident there will be a lot of WL movement and quite a few of you will get offers.

I emailed UF about the waitlist and they told me they didn't expect to look at the waitlist until at least 5/15.

DLIT today, 4/13
We'll see what happens. I'm at a 160, 3.7, but not optimistic at this point.
