+1. Sometimes I wonder whether they even read my app.
Perhaps it is a stealth move a la The Rules to make us desperate and realize that they are our one true desire in life.

Does anyone know what the chances are for someone held over from ED? I'm guessing it's essentially a soft rejection...

I doubt this is you. NYU is predictable. If your numbers are solid then you should be clear (minus a gross application error).

The turn-around on the recent letters is too fast. We saw same thing in early December with admits. If you are 172+ and a good GPA, then my bet is it's an auto-admit.
damn that one point on the lsat...

Having to wait until the new year will drive me insane. They would send it only by mail and on the 17th when I'm no longer on campus, and then tell me today that ACTUALLY they won't forward to my permanent address.

I don't get what's going on with that...why would they be holding the acceptance letter that you'll so obviously get? Does NYU YP at all?

I'm going to throw it out there that perhaps schools consider more than numbers?

Heretical, I know.

Sure they do, but come on. There would have to be something drastically wrong with Sophie's application, given her numbers. I'm not saying there isn't, but that would be the only explanation apart from YP.

My application is still "processing?" Granted, I submitted the end of November, but I would think it should be complete by now! Anyone else in a similar situation?

You submitted a lot earlier than I did though, didn't you say that at some point on the thread?

I submitted on 12/3.

I'm still at UR 11/10. Borderline numbers. Given some of the numbers I've seen in the profiles of those who just went Decision Sent, I bet it's good news. (Because I'm assuming that if it were bad news I would have switched as well, although this obviously could be totally wrong.)

Agreed/same boat. Who knows though -- maybe we'll get non-status-change-acceptance letters? I won't say no to a SHINY PURPLE ENVELOPE FOR CHRISTMAS.
