the bigger hurdle is that it's written to be performed entirely in the nude. we're going for a tone of hardcore Stravinsky inspired, in part, by the tradition of the whirling dervish. some scenes the Lord Chamberlain would be unlikely to approve of, to say the least...but sure, Stanford likes its rabble rousers and radicals.muzzy wrote:Obviously S should break new ground and offer dance interviews.EquallyWrong wrote:I don't think so, not without the climatic third act: dance of the SCOTUS clerkship.muzzy wrote:This is your LOCI, right? I think this will sew things up nicely.EquallyWrong wrote:c'mon Stanford, where is the catharsis?
it's a wait list, of course,...or worse!
let's not be simple, this is an increasingly bad omen...
but I can't help holding on to an impossible expectation.
eck, who needs your Eden like environs and chummy entrepreneurial ubermenschen.

Act II: Miraculous Acceptance featuring Stanford Dean of Admissions making congratulatory phone call in contralto to high soprano, followed by ballad in which applicant begs for continuing financial aid.

I got Yale and Stanford, but not Harvard-- not even an interview. I have a pretty strong guess as to why this is, but I imagine this is the least common 2 of 3 configuration.NapoleonXV wrote:I got H and Y, but my S has been submitted for review since mid Sept T Tlove4life29 wrote:I don't think so. I'd imagine most Y --> H but just numerically looking at the acceptance/matriculation numbers the other groups probably don't overlap as much as people think.

All I remember from those figures is that 80 percent who got YLS got HLS, and 67 percent who got SLS got HLS.

data dump, using LSN figures from three application cycles (2009-2012):
464 H admits
114 Y admits
182 S admits
Total: 760 offers
CROSS-ADMITS = 166 total (receiving 382 offers)
50 HYS
3 YS, no H
71 HS, no Y
42 HY, no S
50, or 9.2%, of the admits are offered admission to all three.
116, or 21.3%, of the admits are offered admission to two of the schools.
378, or 69.5%, of the admits are offered admission to only one of the schools. (Of these, 301 were offered admission to Harvard, 58 to Stanford and 19 to Yale, according to my calculations.)
20% of Harvard admits get into Yale
26% of Harvard admits gets into Stanford
47% of Yale admits get into Stanford
81% of Yale admits get into Harvard
29% of Stanford admits get into Yale
67% of Stanford admits get into Harvard

Re: Stanford c/o 2017 (2013-2014 applicants)
Not all that surprised though it does seem a little low. Also, I don't know how user calculated these figures but I'd imagine a lot of these people aren't even applying to YS at all just out of self selection (or is the data only for people who APPLIED to all 3?). That would boost YS relative to H. For example I got HS but didn't apply to Y. How does my data point look in that analysis?muzzy wrote:Thanks, draw.drawstring wrote:http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... start=1000

Re: Stanford c/o 2017 (2013-2014 applicants)
This is interesting as well.... four years of data on LSN nets only 114 Yale admits; 464 H admits? Assuming H consistently lets in 850 per year; and Y is 235 or so per year.... that means LSN only accounts for 15% or so of admits.gottago wrote:drawstring wrote:[url]

Does that mean every time an LSN acceptance is reported.. on average there are 6 or 7 not reported there?

Would you take S over YH, though?gottago wrote: yea that's what I was looking for. lol fuck. I was hoping that some recent good news would be a leading indicator for S but at least now I'm only slightly worse than a coin-flip whereas before I was only looking at 26%

Yeah, ~15% is the figure I've heard before. TLS has notably more admits (and denies) reported than LSN, though-lots of people are too paranoid or too lazy or whatever to actually make/update a LSN account, but will post on TLS.wtrc wrote:This is interesting as well.... four years of data on LSN nets only 114 Yale admits; 464 H admits? Just remember that there are people who would give their kidney and/or first-born children to have the chance to actually go to these schools. Collecting acceptances shouldn't be a thing.gottago wrote:As of now probably not but you never know. I guess I won't be admitted in time for ASW (just lol) so I probably won't visit.koalacity wrote:Would you take S over YH, though?gottago wrote: yea that's what I was looking for. lol fuck. I say that because before getting Y I was sure I'd choose HLS even if I got Y, but after getting it I'm not so sure anymore and it's now 50/50. So maybe the same thing will happen with S.
I thought Y would be a moral victory but it's really exerting its pull
