Re: Columbia c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I spent some time reading through last year's thread last night. It looks like there was a mixture of holds, reserves, dings and acceptances down to the end. So for some who are waiting, that's probably good news. For others like me, it probably means we shouldn't get our hopes up. (But I certainly wouldn't start despairing if I were a strong candidate who hasn't heard anything yet.)

HELD
Submitted on November 18th. I can't afford to wait until April 24th as I have scholarship offers from schools that I need to make a decision by April 1st-15th. As I have stated earlier, I much rather attend Chicago so no hurt feelings here. Best of luck all!

Still dodging holds left and right. Mid November submit. My roommate just got into Columbia's EE program yesterday. I'm a little Jelly.

Has anyone done any LSN research or looked at last years thread to see when people started getting let off hold list?

I looked awhile ago and remember seeing people who got JR1s a couple of days after being held. So don't lose hope!Mr. Somebody wrote:Use the first link (the form).KRog wrote:Trying to update this hold spreadsheet someone started yesterday, but not having any luck. It's happened to me with several schools; they inform relatives who are alums. Not certain as to legality, but it is definitely common practice. They send a letter or make a phone call.MichelFoucault wrote:Just curious, how would he know?catwomangirl wrote:I'm in the "Silent" group, but recently found out via an acquaintance who is an alum that I'm on HOLD,

I like that postmark date... right before the most recent round of holds. Maybe there is some hope for the forgotten!
