Re: Northwestern Law C/O 2016 (2012-2013 Applicants)
My status has been " complete" since November but never changed to "under review". There is just one sentence telling me that my application is complete and has been under review by the committee. Is it a normal situation?

That's normal, I think. At least, that's how mine is, and the only thing that changes is the date.mosquito wrote:My status has been " complete" since November but never changed to "under review". With the reduction in applications, I wouldn't be surprised to see more schools follow suit.mrizza wrote:InterestingNU Law Admissions @nulawadmissions

I agree, I think this means Feb LSAT takers can apply with those scores.PBateman1 wrote:With the reduction in applications, I wouldn't be surprised to see more schools follow suit.mrizza wrote:InterestingNU Law Admissions @nulawadmissions

Interesting that they are pinning it on interview availability, if it may actually be about needing more applicants. I mean couldn't people still make the 2/15 deadline to submit their application even if their interview was not scheduled until after 2/15?

ya its pretty flimsy, pretty sure it has nothing to do with interview availabilityrisa wrote:Interesting that they are pinning it on interview availability, if it may actually be about needing more applicants. I wonder if NW will ease up on their work experience requirement with the lack of applications or dip down into the LSAT pool and risk lower medians than the rest of the T14..

Based on LSN and acceptances reported here it looks like they're easing up on WE to keep medians up (IMHO)john7234797 wrote:I wonder if NW will ease up on their work experience requirement with the lack of applications or dip down into the LSAT pool and risk lower medians than the rest of the T14..

I also can't imagine that many people with significantly better qualifications than the current pool have not yet applied to NU but will do so now that they have 15 more days to do so. I feel like anyone with better #s than the current pool probably already made a decision not to apply there for some reason and/or have already gotten into comparable or better schools.

According to LSN, it looks like they are trying to use 170 as a floor. Come on NU, grab some of us 169's up.

I was admitted 165/3.9, non-URM, so hang in there. If it's a "floor" it's a rather flimsy one.nsideirish wrote:According to LSN, it looks like they are trying to use 170 as a floor. Come on NU, grab some of us 169's up.

WOOOO let's go with the "flimsy floor" theory, esp since they basically admitted today that they don't have enough appslaotze wrote:I was admitted 165/3.9, non-URM, so hang in there. I think the floor is real. but how they get to the medians....will they take more splitters/reverse splitters...to make the numbers come out. that way those who would "give up their first Born" would pay sticker and not cost them any money. They can still blend the class averages out and make it work. Especially if their ED folks have some good scores.

I don't see anyway they keep a 170 median. Who exactly are these people with 170s that are going to matriculate?
I expect every school that didn't drop medians last year to drop a point. Maybe even the ones that already dropped last year will drop again.

Except there are just not enough 170 scorers to go around to the T14. (Some of the 170s will take the money at a lower-ranked, but more geographically desirable, or affordable, school.)I think the floor is real. but how they get to the medians

c/o 2015 saw a dip in WE. All reports are that the new Dean is committed to maintaining WE levels, but I don't see him rushing to restore pre-c/o 2015 WE levels anytime soon. I'm more curious to see if class size gets reduced on the heels of the Kirkland gift.snapdragon25 wrote:Based on LSN and acceptances reported here it looks like they're easing up on WE to keep medians up (IMHO)john7234797 wrote:I wonder if NW will ease up on their work experience requirement with the lack of applications or dip down into the LSAT pool and risk lower medians than the rest of the T14..
