Hi all! This might be a dumb question, but I'll try anyway.

If you are admitted with merit aid, is that listed on your acceptance letter? Or is it a separate mailing?

So... I went complete in mid-December and still haven't heard a thing. Anyone in the same boat??

Well the vast majority of us holds will end up on the WL eventually

For those of us in held-purgatory are we sending in LOCI's now or should I wait till the reserve stage? I know there's no right answer, I've just read really conflicting things regarding LOCI's and when they are most appropriate.

Without being on TLS, I don't think my natural inclination would be to send a LOCI when I have nothing significant to add and I simply haven't heard back as quickly as I'd like. Reading Ken's thread about LOCI's seems to back up that inclination. But looking at Mark Spivey thread - who has worked in admissions - it seems like they are always welcome and there really isn't a negative to sending one in. Going farthest in that direction is the article on LSN saying that you CANNOT afford to be complacent when put on waitlist and need to send a LOCI since you are currently in a fragile position.

Also, given my stats, CLS is clearly a reach school for me and my held-status is definitely not YP so is there any benefit to simply informing them of my interest in attending?

Wondering this same thing. I had a third LOR I was hanging onto in case of WL, so I sent that along when I was held. Debating whether to send an LOCI now or wait until the dreaded Reserve email.

Ugh. I submitted my app to Columbia in the beginning of January and my SC still says, "Verifying Files for Completion." SERIOUSLY?

Is anyone else going through this?

The status checker's bugged. Several applicants have gone complete without any updates. Give admissions a call, and someone will take care of it for you.

I had two journal articles published in international law journals recently, which I had not known of at the time of submitting my application to Columbia. So I sent a short email updating them of my newly published journal articles, with an updated resume attached. The email response thanked me for my continued interest and said they would update my application. It just occurred to me, did they mistake this email for a LOCI?! It was a short email merely for the purpose of updating my publications list, I didn't express any continued interest in Columbia. It didn't occur to me it could have been mistaken for a LOCI since I haven't heard anything from them since I completed. Now I realize I could have just accidentally sent a very weak LOCI, and am not quite sure what to do. Advice?
