On LSN I've seen up to 90K, non dean's scholarship. For the most part though, it'll be the numbers Arbiter gave (total awards over 3 years).

90K would be awesome but I doubt I have the merits to get it. Anyone ever hear of Cornell increasing scholarships after a June retake?spacepenguin wrote:On LSN I've seen up to 90K, non dean's scholarship. For the most part though, it'll be the numbers Arbiter gave (total awards over 3 years).

no idea. If you get any feedback on this I'd love to know. Considering a retake in June myself.

I have no idea here, but it doesn't seem like it would help--what incentive do they have to give you more money when you have already put down a seat deposit?spacepenguin wrote:damage-inc wrote:90K would be awesome but I doubt I have the merits to get it. Theoretically you could have paid multiple seat deposits to other schools--as long as you keep your other options open, I'd imagine you could still have some leverage in negotiating money. The primary concern would be if they have the funds or not by July.
But if his score improves significantly, then it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to reapply next cycle.

Not sure how to feel about this. You and I were exact numbers twins until the Feb LSAT, so maybe this can be a data point for the debate about Feb retakes being worth it or not if I manage to squeeze in. Anyway, hope you get in after I get in!.bigjinjapan wrote:UR 3/15, and...placed on Reserve as of 3/17. ugh.
and fuck Cornell's auto-response email. fuck it in the ear.
EDIT. I forgot, I'm IR today, but I haven't been checking because I thought Cornell had said they send email updates whenever our status changes. So, I guess I could have missed an earlier IR date. Is the consensus that admits get 2 IR dates?

Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
I believe I've seen people in this thread get admitted with more than just 2 IR dates, so I'm not sure there is an exact formula or number. That said, I just got my second IR date today for 3/21 after having initially gone IR on 3/16. It could be wishful thinking, but I believe Cornell might be picking up the pace at this point.Kabuo wrote:Not sure how to feel about this. Finally updated to 3/21, from 11/29.
I was deferred, so they are looking at us again. Hopefully.

Your status checker updated from the "deferred" message at the top of the page? Great, now I'll be going back to obsessively checking the status checker.
Any other deferred applicants get an update on their status checker?

Updated to 3/21 today. Third IR update, so judging on thread consensus this might not bode too well.

Yup, it was the "deferred, will be confirmed by email message before. Now:LawSchoolPorFavor wrote:Your status checker updated from the "deferred" message at the top of the page? Great, now I'll be going back to obsessively checking the status checker.

With a date of 3/21, status "Application in review".Your application is currently in review with the Admissions Committee. As your application moves through our review process, you may see your current status date change. If your application was complete by February 1, 2011, you should receive a decision within 8 to 12 weeks.
*Note: LLM applications are usually reviewed for decision starting in mid-January.

Does anyone know if your UR date changes on the day you get a decision?

What is their deal? Are they really under-staffed? Disorganized? Dealing with Seasonal Affective Disorder?subtle wrote:r6_philly wrote:Just the general admissions email. Sometimes they take their time acknowledging it.chasgoose wrote:Who would I e-mail if I want to withdraw?

Rejected via status checker. Says an email will follow. Last under review was 3/17 (on 3/16).

Same here. I was deferred on 11/24 and now IR 3/21.r6_philly wrote:Finally updated to 3/21, from 11/29.

It says "if it was complete by 2/1 then a decision in 8-12 weeks," which hopefully means 8-12 weeks from 2/1 and not 8-12 weeks from 3/21 but knowing Cornell...

Serious question: Does anyone know why they are so slow? They are a few weeks away from running up against deposit deadlines.

They had problems last year so I would say that it just has to do with their admissions office having problems in general.BrightLine wrote:Serious question: Does anyone know why they are so slow? They are a few weeks away from running up against deposit deadlines.
I would bet that they are either understaffed or just unorganized/incompetent.

So now I am officially in the same situation as last years. I was complete 3/something last year and went in review about the same time.bk187 wrote:Same here. I was deferred on 11/24 and now IR 3/21.r6_philly wrote:Finally updated to 3/21, from 11/29.
