Not really. HPIP wasn't terribly generous, but at least it didn't have a long 10-year string attached. The new LRAP isn't any more generous; it only appears so because the federal government is absorbing the rest. For someone who does anything other than 10 continuous years of public interest, the new program is actually worse. If you have to leave federal IBR, UChicago just sits back and watches your loans return to their original balance (plus interest)--unless, of course, you've worked for 5 years, in which case they'll give you a measly $10,000.

Can I ask a dumb question? What does this MEAN exactly? That they took another look at my app in the current pool? Is this good news or bad news? My current status got updated to 3/10.

Your app likely has to go through multiple reviewers and the last is prob the Dean of Admissions. (prob updates with each person that sees it)

Thanks! I was on the late side (middle of January) so it's not really time to start tearing hair out quite yet.

I believe I had two different UR dates in February, although I'm not positive because I didn't realize it was significant. Me applying to law school = amateur hour!

ugh. please be earlier than the month's end!
also, i've been at my 3rd UR date for a while now (1+ month) so maybe 3 isnt the magic number.

chicagooo what are you doing? its been over a month since any decisions came out! i didn't check enough to know how many/when my other URs were but i'm stuck at 2/14..

Yes, please. I think it's frustrating because we were expecting a pattern (1/10, 2/10 --> 3/10). Still, it seems like a really long time to wait. Anyone giving up on this week?

Not giving up on this week. There have been people that have reported status checker 3rd updates this week. Though we also had some last week, I would say that two weeks in a row may mean that they have been trying to compile as many decisions to release as possible before April. Oh, well. Here's to hoping.

ugh, the longer schools are making me wait the less and less attractive they get to me. i've never been to chicago, and at this point if i were to be admitted (ha!) it would be a lot of last-minute planning to get over there for an ASW or visit to check it out before i commit 3 years and $200,000. just sounds exhausting. let us know our fate so we can get on with our lives!
