Okay, thank you. I was hoping Cornell would give more time if you haven't yet been accepted, but I didn't see anything on their financial aid section on the website about it so I wasn't sure.Killingly wrote:Not 100% on this, but I'm pretty sure you get more time if you haven't been accepted yet. Cornell's FinAid deadline is March 15, which includes submitting both student and parent 2011 tax returns to their office along with the Financial Aid Information Sheet. I've already submitted the FAFSA and Need Access, but I haven't yet filed my 2011 tax return and neither have my parents. And they won't have theirs filed by March 15.
Also I don't even know if I'm accepted yet or not. I applied kind of late in the cycle and I don't know if I will have a decision by March 15.
Is this 3/15 deadline a hard deadline and anybody who submits that stuff afterward isn't guaranteed consideration for need-based grants?

Managed to stay away from TLS and status checkers for a whole TWO DAYS (they're engraving my medal now), so I just noticed I went from
EA 12/19 ->2/13 ->2/24...Since ive gotten like four WLs lately, I have little to be hopeful for from C. BUT I STILL HAVE HOPE.

Re: Cornell c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
In one of the emails they sent to accepted students, they said to email the office if you wouldn't have all the tax returns by March 15th. I had to email them about it and they said just send 2010 forms now and 2011 forms as soon as you have them. I'd email them to let them know if you do that.hellothisisme wrote:Okay, thank you. I've been avoiding TLS for a few days for my own sanity, but I was accepted last week!

I'm still on 02/21 (previously 12/19 - EA deferred also)
I prefer UCLA's system... blind waiting until you get a decision. Checking status all the time and wondering what it means is driving me crazy.

Was it a WL, or are you guys still waiting for a decision?

I really have no idea whether this is bad or not. Sometimes the groupthink of TLS can be way off the mark. At least, if I were an admissions dean, I would not have a specific number of, say, electronic status updates before a decision.Killingly wrote:T00L wrote:MEEE TOOO now. Just curious why people think the 2/27 update is the kiss of death?

Re: Cornell c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Nooo no decision yet! Sorry to scare you guys! But my cycle is like death, and I already have 4 WL's and a ding in the t14 (not even one acceptance), so I'm not too optimistic about the rest of my cycle. but it's okay because what's meant to be, will be! and if I don't get it, one of you much more deserving people willKillingly wrote:T00L wrote:MEEE TOOO now. Aren't two back-to-back updates a good thing? As in, many of the people who were accepted had such? *eyebrow wiggle* Good luck!T00L wrote:MEEE TOOO now. This is so sad.sums wrote:I was EA deferred and just went 2/13-->2/24-->2/27! ahhh not another waitlist
