I would just communicate that you aren't comfortable writing your own letter, and that you don't want to do anything that could be considered unethical in your law school applications.
It's a pretty common practice in the business world to write your own letters of recommendation. If you're comfortable with it, there is no ethical issue.

I don't think you're doing anything wrong, per se, but I would still avoid it.
I think there's also a big difference between academic letters and professional letters. It would be odd to have a professor have you write one yourself, but I just don't feel the same way about work letters.

I've written professional letters for myself in the past and every time the person signing off on them told me it sounded like they wrote it. As long as you're being honest, I think there's absolutely no problem.

Extra long weekend starting today! I'm going to attempt write my "Why Michigan" today, but I have a feeling that today is going to be very undproductive. T-minus 9 hours until one of my favorite things in the world starts back up.

I really hope it's just the 15 people who have completed the poll.
This is based on absolutely no fact, but I speculate anywhere between 100 and 150 people have submitted applications at T-14 schools so far.

Hahaha. Priorities.

What're everyone's plans for the weekend?

I just realized that pretty much all my friends are out of town, but that just means I'll spend a lot of time reading and coffeeshopping, which is a-okay with me. :)

Nice! What cha reading?

My weekend will be similarly low key. I'll grab drinks with coworkers after the office closes early tomorrow, then most likely TV marathon and carbo load on Saturday for an 18-miler ATTEMPT on Sunday. Woof. Which also means I'll have to miss the farmer's market, an even bigger bummer.
I'm plodding through Go Set A Watchman, but I'm not really into it so we'll see what happens.

18 miles!! When's your marathon? I might try to run 3 miles.....

Sounds like you and I have similar weekend plans lined up!
I might go to home depot to look at plants too :D
I was gonna do that after work today! But I should probably save it for the weekend in case I get bored.

I have been plotting to cover every flat surface of my apartment with plants and it's starting to get really alarming. I have twenty-one.
