FWIW Tulane is not worth sticker if you're not interested in gov't/PI

i know the data is dated, but tls says reports the following-
Average private sector first-year salary: $140,000 (Class of 2007, 37% reporting)

where do you figure that?

Tuition + Living = ~$60k/year = $180k/3 years

Notice the 37% reporting number. This is terrible data to rely on. Talk to 2Ls and 3Ls at the school and to career services. i'd be willing to bet <20% of the class of 2011 got private sector jobs through fall 2009 oci. if you're interested in estimating a median private sector salary for the entire class of 2007, think closer to $85k. You can imagine how much this figure likely declined in the past two years.

if you tell me to pay you $180k + opportunity cost for the chance to maybe make $85k three years from now, i'd tell you to go fly a kite.

I think latest to hear back (not including waitlisters) will be last week in March/first week in April. Deposit is due April 15th.

I don't know if that is gonna happen. I wonder if I could call them and try to speed things up.

So when you are admitted you get the email and it also says admitted on the status checker- right?

Does it let you know if you were denied? Or does it just say decision rendered?

My status checker updated last night sometime to "Decision has been made" in that box on the right-hand side and on top, it says "Congratulations! You've been accepted... blah blah" up top. I received my email this morning at 9 am PST.

If you were admitted, your status checker will say Congratulations you were admitted... Hopefully it says that for you

We have similar numbers and I went complete again after weeks before admittance. I'd say you have a pretty good shot.
