I'm still at 'electronic application received' as of 12/17, i don't know why it's taking so long to be complete considering everything is in, i've gone complete at four schools I applied to after new year's already.

Yeah I'm not sweating it yet. I'm not too confident that my LSAT is high enough to make up for my GPA, but we will see.

One thing came to mind, when did all you scholarly folks go complete. Earlier than 11/20 all around would be nice to hear.
Went complete 10/14. Received acceptance via e-mail on 12/18.

Went complete 10/30. Received acceptance via e-mail on 12/18 as well.

FWIW, as far as rankings are concerned, giving a 170/2.0 a scholly is just as helpful to rankings as giving a 165/3.5 a scholly (assuming matriculation) and vice versa. All that matters is medians. in both cases, median lsat is brought up and GPA is not.

and , iwent complete mid Nov, before the 20th tho.
I'll let you know if Wake Forest feels this way in a few weeks  .

No...but I got an email from the student bar president. Seemed generic so I am guessing you guys all got it as well. I almost had a heart attack when I saw I had an email from Wake. Not cool. Anyone want to bite the bullet and just call and see if they are actually sending it today? We all got ourselves so worked up this weekend that now I am checking my email like every minute. Sigh. I would call, but since I have called about 10 times already, they may start to think I am crazy and revoke what ever scholarship they were planning on offering. haha

I'm visiting next week, and it will be nice to know if I can realistically see myself there. Any scholarship opportunities will only make W-F that much more attractice.

And I'm happy to help.

I called out there a few minutes ago and spoke with Jenny. She said I should be hearing something via e-mail by the end of the week. I'm taking that to mean there isn't any need for us to be stalking our mail carriers.

Sigh. I was hoping to receive good news from Wake before my Vandy waitlist letter arrived. Oh well.

Unfortunately, I will still be stalking my mail carrier in the off chance that something unexpected arrives. My mailman sucks though. There is never a reliable time that I can expect my mail by, so I usually end up checking my mail like 5 times a day.

Cool, since my birthday will be this Saturday I will not check my e-mail on Friday. This way I get to wake up and "open" the best gif first. 8)

I swear my mailperson only delivers every other day, and maybe scans the block to see if you have a letter to send. EVERY other day I get a massive pile of mail and the next nothing... it has been like this for months now.

i get more and more interested in WF as the days go on... still pretty concerned about west coast employment prospects though

any thoughts? TLS profile notes that for its ranking, schools like WF and Tulane do pretty well w/ national mobility of employment

a little $ would help to push me in the right direction though

Don't kid yourself, neither of them have national mobility. They are still great schools and you can land west coast employment from either, it will just be based on your own hard work and not on their coat tails.

I just went to the admitted students website and liked Wake Forest even more. After learning if I will be able to attend ($) I will e-maile them this and other questions.

Edited to say: thanks, tstyler98.

So do we have any real reason or precedent to believe that the status change to "Admitted Scholar" is indicative of having won a merit scholarship? Or is that just conjecture

After a couple years of working, it won't matter much anyway. If you can to a good school for fairly cheap in a great place, then spend a couple years working there before going back West, that seems like a good deal to me.

http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... &start=150 last years thread, and the fact that ppl call and those who have "admitted scholar" also have been told they will get some $$.

an aside: we kick last year's thread's ass. i wonder if it is the economy that is driving us more OCD or is c/o 2013 just a gunnerish type group?
I'm sure there's a bit of everything. I know for me, I'm just really excited. I was supposed to start law school last year (part-time while working full-time up in DC), but my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer, so I deferred and moved home to spend time with him and help him out. I'm really glad I did, as I had almost 4 wonderful months with him before he passed. It made me realize how much I love NC and want to stay here, so I applied to Wake & UNC.

Sorry to hear about your dad, IMHO you did the right thing deferring.

I like all the excitement Wake Forest is generating here.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
