I went to the myUM and I requested an account and it seems that I am in the system. I logged in and everything and I have access. Does anyone know what this means? The fact that I was in the system with my own Cane Id?

It means you've been accepted. You probably knew that though.

No, I didn't know because it doesn't say anything about being accepted or congratulations or anything about a seat deposit. Is that how yours worked?

As soon as I logged in for the first time I was greeted with a screen congratulating me on being accepted.

Well then you're probably not accepted, or at least not yet. You'll know in the next 2 weeks I'm sure.

just call them tomorrow. they are SUPER nice and super helpful, and will tell you in the phone convo exactly where you stand. that's how i found out i got in (as well as quite a number of other people on TLS)

+1 the adcoms are the nicest people. Even the financial aid office was great.

Merit based scholarships will come in the mail in a couple weeks. Need based will come late March with FAFSA results.

it doesn't mean anything. i logged in over the weekend. i think if you're an applicant, then you're in the system. i called them today and the lady told me that a decision has not been made, but i would hear "within a week or so." Considering that people who have gone complete around the time I did (mid january) have all been accepted, I think they rejected me. the "within week or so" means the time it takes for the letter to arrive.

I finally received my admissions packet in the mail today. My acceptance is real! I am way too excited about watching that DVD!

Sadly it was the exact same DVD that they sent me with their packet that came in the mail offering me the fee waiver.

The first time I used the status checker, I swear I remember a welcome to miami you have been accepted screen. Never since then. I just go straight on to the system. I wrote to them asking about what the situation was and asked how long the letter took to go out... am I in or not?

Exactly, they will tell you over the phone if you've been accepted.

You are in. The same thing happened to me. I just received a letter yesterday, and merit scholarship offering today.
