this really all relies on H? I just find that hard to believe, difficult to swallow, or both. I've now thoroughly researched four waitlist NYU threads on TLS and the movement always started right after the deposit deadline.

^same! I had emailed them asking about the waitlist confirmation email when I sent them my LOCI and they sent me the PDF of the confirmation letter - I go onto the status checker today and its no longer in my mailings section.

I don't think it's COMPLETELY dependent on H but if we get a big WL Summer or rather a trickle will be dependent on H. The big WL summer is contingent on a cascade. H is needed for that cascade.
