Congrats to everyone who got an interview request!

Unfortunately, I wasn't included, but I'm really not surprised with my numbers!

So, if we don't have a JS1 by now, we won't get one until next week?

Quick question: Even if I applied very early (September) but my app was held till my Sept. LSAT Score came out (October 19), my app is considered just as if I would have applied in Oct. 19? Thus pushing the whole timeline back a few?

Because I worry that I alot of people are getting interviews and stuff from everywhere but I am like :? it has to be the case that its as if I just applied in Oct. right?

Hey y'all I figured I'd chime in with my experience from last year with the JS1s.

I was in the very first wave of JS1 invites, so my interview was 5 November. I did not get the JS2 until 28 MARCH. That was after waves and waves of JS2s for people who applied later, applied with lower numbers, etc.

So it's going to be a slog for some of you. Don't freak out, you're in the running until you get told you're not anymore.

Is there a chance that those of us who applied after the september lsat get in on this next wave of JS1's?

To give more data points/experiences, I received my JS1 on 12/1 and was admitted 1/15. Looking at the stats, I was between 25th and 50th for both GPA and LSAT. Very average work experience. Don't think just because you have great numbers you will be entitled to an early JS1/JS2; similarly, there are plenty of us at HLS who make up the bottom 50th percent of admissions and spoiler, they don't wait to admit you until last. Sometimes they even let you in above people with super high scores.

Good luck all! It's a great place to end up.

ETA: I applied the first week of October.

I am first generation, but not sure how much HLS values that or not. Otherwise, no.

Any speculation as to why you were held? What was your numbers range?

Below 25th GPA, above 75th LSAT, military experience. No idea about timing. My point was more "don't give up hope."

So, there are several waves of JS1's before the first JS2. Does that mean most of the strong admits will hear back on the first JS2 if they interviewed at some time before it?

Thought I'd add one more data point/experience as well - tho you can find all this info in last years spreadsheet. LSAT between 25th and 50th and GPA above 75th, KJD with average softs. Interviewed mid December, JS2 early March. Applied mid October.

Also just wanted to add for any of you KJDs out there, HLS admits plenty of KJDs every year and have around 50-60 defer (what I was told during JS1). So don't stress out too much when you see the high number of applicants/incoming class with working experience. And a heads up for those KJD with JS1 coming up, they did ask me about my thoughts on deferring admission during mine.

Defer as in choose to defer or are told to defer?

choose to defer. I don't know of any instances of someone being told to defer or defer is required for admissions. Besides ofc the junior deferral program they started in 2013 for those from Harvard College. I have no idea how many of the 50-60 are from the junior deferral program tho, but if I had to guess it might not be too many, just cus I'd assume most ppl would want to apply to all schools as a senior and weigh options like other top schools, scholarship money, etc. Why lock yourself in unless H is for sure your top choice.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
