Decided I'll apply here. Trying to decide what to write for the Why Berk.
Wish I could write things like "Why not? It's a good school in a nice location"

Yes, they should've sent you an email with directions on how to log in through a CalNet ID. Not sure if they sent it to everyone yet. Berkeley is my alma mater, and if there's one thing I Iearned about Berkeley, it's that the administration likes to take their time with things...btruj777 wrote:Got Admin. Packet in the mail yesterday. Apparently merit based scholarships come out Feb-March. Also did anyone get the info as to how to log into the Cal website/admitted students ?
Regardless, the info should be coming if it has not come.

You should read up on some of the social movements if you're interested in that in any way. Berkeley also prides itself on being trailblazers for social change, research, and community service.brinicolec wrote:Decided I'll apply here. Trying to decide what to write for the Why Berk.

Good luck! I have friends who went to Berkeley for UG so it was a pleasant surprise to see a Hawaii specific scholarship fund for their LS.armc808 wrote:Yep!angelfan5589 wrote:Did you apply for the Pence Scholarship?armc808 wrote:Got the UR email this morning. Now the long wait begins...

Definitely found some interesting stuff regarding race relations and things that they've been involved in too while brainstorming.

Does a three page PS say that I'm slacking or that I'm able to be concise? Would an extra paragraph or two look better?

I think it doesn't matter. From a while ago I remember people posting that they submitted a range of two, three, or four page essays. I can't remember who of these have been getting accepted but iirc it's been a mix. A three page one will probably automatically signal that you tailored it to Berkeley anyway since most schools require two, so three will be fine.kpadoreo wrote:Does a three page PS say that I'm slacking or that I'm able to be concise? Anyone who's actually gotten accepted, feel free to share. (fwiw I did two but have no decision yet).

I applied with a 2-pager so we'll see how it goes lol. I'm sure a lot of ppl did two pages because that's what most schools require.beantheshadow wrote:NotAGolfer wrote:I got in with a 2 pagerstudyingeveryday wrote:I think it doesn't matter. I submitted my app on 11/30, didn't go complete until 12/5, and was stuck there for awhile until it finally went UR on 12/23. They're probably just flooded with apps this time of year, and their office is closed until 1/3 anyway, so I wouldn't worry (Y)Daydreamer15 wrote:Im starting to worry since my application has not changed from "received" to anything else since 12/8...

How do each of your stats line up with the 25/50/75? That could be part of it.

LSAT just under the median, GPA just under 75th.brinicolec wrote: How do each of your stats line up with the 25/50/75? That could be part of it.

I think around 2-3 weeks between complete and UR is kinda normal, I went complete on 11/20 and UR on 12/16.armc808 wrote:I submitted my app on 11/30, didn't go complete until 12/5, and was stuck there for awhile until it finally went UR on 12/23. Yeah it took about the same time for me both years I applied, and my lsat went up three points from median to 75galeatus wrote:I think around 2-3 weeks between complete and UR is kinda normal, I went complete on 11/20 and UR on 12/16.armc808 wrote:I submitted my app on 11/30, didn't go complete until 12/5, and was stuck there for awhile until it finally went UR on 12/23. My LSAT's between their median and 75th. I submitted before they headed to break. I've been keeping a pretty thorough record of my dates for all my apps so I'll be sure to let you guys know if my turnaround is different!Keilz wrote:Yeah it took about the same time for me both years I applied, and my lsat went up three points from median to 75galeatus wrote:I think around 2-3 weeks between complete and UR is kinda normal, I went complete on 11/20 and UR on 12/16.armc808 wrote:I submitted my app on 11/30, didn't go complete until 12/5, and was stuck there for awhile until it finally went UR on 12/23.
