Hoping to hear some news about the wait list today since we are almost halfway through May...

Did the tour/info session this week and was able to speak with an admissions officer. Sounds like in years past they have had a significant number of people come in off the waitlist as people drop out throughout the summer.

According to LSN, there was movement on the WL about two days ago... Good luck everyone!

Anyone else get off the waitlist? I'm hoping they don't drag this out.

I got my waitlist notification in February and haven't heard anything back yet. They said that the waitlist isn't ranked so I'm not sure how they pick and choose. Maybe from a hat?Alexie0423 wrote:benjaye wrote:According to LSN, there was movement on the WL about two days ago... Good luck everyone!

It all depends on who drops. You just have to hope that someone with your numbers drops so that you can take their place.socaljd wrote:I got my waitlist notification in February and haven't heard anything back yet. Not sure if this info is helpful but there are ~85 people in the fb group (including current students) and the Dean said he was aiming for a class of 140 at ASW. The fb group isn't the most representative but I wanted as much info as possible for my WLs so just putting this out there.LShopeful2016 wrote:It all depends on who drops. Oh okay, thanks for the info. I didn't realize that you need someone with the same stats to drop. Do a lot of schools use this same method?benjaye wrote:Yes, this is exactly what I was told by the director of admissionsLShopeful2016 wrote:It all depends on who drops. Called yesterday asking about WL movement and they couldn't give me a timeline for decisions, but said they would be accepting people up until orientation. Pretty much a nonanswer. I won't be holding my breath.

Pretty sure this is what almost any school would say.Alexie0423 wrote:Called yesterday asking about WL movement and they couldn't give me a timeline for decisions, but said they would be accepting people up until orientation. Pretty much a nonanswer. I won't be holding my breath.

The amount of times I've checked LSN for recent movement in the past few weeks has been really unhealthy. LOOLL

It depends what you're looking for. During my undegrad, me and two other housemates leased a 3 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment for $23xx in our third year and $25xx in our fourth year. Most off campus communities are owned and operated by Irvine Company. Definitely start your search on their website if you're interested about off campus apartments.yunjh2725 wrote:Hi everyone, what is the general housing/apt rates near UCI? Thanks!

Irvine apartments are pretty expensive. I think a 2 bedroom can run anywhere from $1800-$3000. Student housing is apparently ridiculously cheap since it's subsidized by the university. Like $400 a month according to one of the students I talked to.yunjh2725 wrote:Hi everyone, what is the general housing/apt rates near UCI? Thanks!

Re: UC Irvine Law c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I was assigned a 2 bedroom apartment by university housing that's $750/month, all utilities included. My first choice was a studio, which isn't that much more expensive that the 2 bedroom IIRC.socaljd wrote:Irvine apartments are pretty expensive. I think a 2 bedroom can run anywhere from $1800-$3000.
