Got 69k via email today. Definitely going to need to try negotiating. Anyone have any insight as to the best time to start negotiating?

tuesdayninja wrote:75k via email today. Would really like to attend BC but I got 90k from higher ranked Minnesota. What're the chances I can use Minnesota to bargain? I know they're regionally different but would it be worth a shot? Also still waiting on BU acceptance/scholly. Hoping I get something there too.
I don't want to ruin anyone's day here but the overwhelming opinion seems to be that BC is stingy in negotiations, especially with schools outside of their immediate geographical neighborhood. I have equal offers from Vandy and UMinn that I don't know if I can leverage at all since they are so geographically distant, even though rankings-wise those 2 are much better.

You can certainly try, I'm just thinking that perhaps you won't get very far. I plan to send in my Vandy offer in the next couple weeks to see what happens. Otherwise I'm not horribly hopeful.

(I have a 75k offer from BC btw, PM me for more stats)

I was accepted 3.3 and received scholly email 3.8. Some people have gotten it in their junk folder. Mine was in my regular email. Good luck!

Has anyone had any success with negotiating scholarships? Would a higher offer from WUSTL move the needle at all?

I'd like to know this as well. I got higher offers from WUSTL and Minnesota.

I've read on TLS that BC is stingy though but I plan on attempting negotiating at least, worst that that can happen is they say no?

Seemingly, yes, that's the worst that could happen. I'm hoping the rankings will help here, but they may deny on the basis of region.

I just confirmed from my acceptance letter:

"To reserve your place in the entering class we must receive a non-refundable deposit of $500 by April 15, 2016. An additional deposit of $500 is required by May 15, 2016. Both deposits will be applied to your first semester tuition."

It was pretty generic. Just says our files indicate you are on the waitilist and they wanted to see if I am still interested in being on the waitlist. Wonder if that means i'll get a decision soon lolol
