Checking in. Anyone know when Admit Day is? Any luck asking admissions for a stipend to come visit?

There is an admitted students day on March 20, this might be the only one. I was given a $300 voucher for travel to/from that event (although I do live pretty far away so I'm not sure if this is just standard practice for long-distance applicants).

There's another one on March 27. Regarding stipends, "Boston University School of Law's travel stipend program will reimburse up to $300 for transportation and lodging costs incurred to attend a scheduled Preview Day. The program is for those Preview Day attendees traveling over 300 miles, one way, and can only be applied toward travel, not food. BU Law will reimburse you by mailed check upon presentation of ticket receipts. Please note that the number of stipends is limited. To request a travel stipend, please register for a Preview Day and email chrisc@bu.edu with your request and expected travel expenses."

Lived in Somerville and Brighton. Both are good choices but Bright and Allston are going to be two of the closest that are still not that expensive

Congrats - were you RD?

I'm hoping for money as well, had a nice note in my acceptance letter but no offer yet. Trying to keep hope alive!

Yeah I was RD

EDIT: also, does BU negotiate? I assume once I get my BC scholarship offer they will at least negotiate with that.

Mine did not, unfortunately, been waiting since Nov. 24th. But all schools negotiate, you just have to have sufficient leverage and they have to bet that if they play ball, you'll actually go there and not just use their offer as leverage at another school.

Just heard back from BU. I think this will end up being a BC vs BU decision. It seems to be 6 in one half a dozen in the other. I really liked BC after my tour, but I will probably check out BU as well.

My bet is they'll be closed Wednesday too. My sister's college which is just outside of boston just announced they're closing at 4 today until Thursday morning.

Got an 8x11 envelope from BU today and opened it assuming it was scholarship info. Instead, it's a brochure about recent scholarship form faculty members. Are you f*ing kidding me BU.

Checking in! Accepted yesterday :) Hoping to do one of the preview days, but would need the travel stipend to get a flight. Anyone else going?

I'll be at the preview day on the 27th. I'm lucky b/c they offer travel stipends if you're over 300 miles away. My drive? 332 miles!

Hahaha nice! I'm leaning towards the one on the 27th. I'm hoping 970 miles will get me that offer ;)

Does preview day just last the one day? And I have you beat, I'm traveling over 3,000 miles! Shooting for the 27th as well!

I'll be going to the 27th preview. I already visited over winter break, but I'm excited to see the campus more.

Any thoughts on how much scholarship money one should try for before planning on attending?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
