Is anyone optimistic that some more decisions might be made this week?

Got scholly info today, woo! Really nice personalized letter from the dean talking about specific things on my resume that they liked. Good vibes.

Are there any affordable apts within walking distance of smooo? I highly doubt it, but I was just wondering if I should begin looking at these.
The reason I ask is that my family just put their house on the market (in a suburb of Dallas about 5 miles north). They asked for X amount. Within 20 hours, they had 5 offers ALL above X amount. Dallas is an absolute booming market, and I'm afraid if I was to procrastinate, I'd be left with no other option at home (I'd just like to have the option of living closer to campus).

I've heard people mention the village, but I don't know if that's actually walking distance. I'm looking too, so let me know if you find anything. I'd be prepared to be a little farther out though if "affordable" is the main goal.ilikebaseball wrote:Are there any affordable apts within walking distance of smooo? I drove through the Village. Its across the congested highway. Its not really walking distance, but idk if SMU buses are legit around that area.p1921 wrote:I've heard people mention the village, but I don't know if that's actually walking distance. The Village is viable and has a range of prices for apartments. There are also apartments just west of Greenville off of University that also range in price. They are technically within walking distance (1-1.5 mi). But SMU offers a free shuttle service throughout that apartment area that loops back to campus (full loop takes maybe 20 minutes). It is legit and very reliable, even runs during the weekends during the school year.ilikebaseball wrote:I drove through the Village. Its across the congested highway. There's also apartments on SMU Boulevard (The Shelby, BLVD) that most students walk from, but it's mostly undergrads that live there and they can get pretty gnarly (occasionally vomit in hallways, holes in walls, et cetera). Everything immediately west of campus is going to be pricier, but definitely walkable.

I got waitlisted Monday I believe. Was bummed and can't figure it out. Especially since I've heard back from other schools since then that really make me scratch my head.nm516 wrote:Anyone hear anything this week?ilikebaseball wrote:It seems as if they've made most of their past decisions on Thursdaynm516 wrote:Let's hope so. Sorry dude. The same thing happened to me at a school and I was way above their 75th LSAT. Some of the admissions are crazy
It looks like SMU took many people off their WL previously. Its a private school that costs a lot even for guys who live in Dallas and got offered a higher-end package, but I'm sure other people will think that the package they got isn't worth it and withdraw. Its one of the more expensive schools in the country, so it leads me to believe that it will also be one of the more withdrawn schools because the highest, solely based on merit, scholly they offer is 30

Has anyone ever heard from someone who has gone through the Sumners interview process? It seems to be rather mysterious. Also, does anyone know the timeline for selection and that sort of thing?

Honestly I have no idea what the process is. I know that the last two years it was given at the end of March, but other than that I don't know much.Accountanon wrote:Has anyone ever heard from someone who has gone through the Sumners interview process? There are tons, but you'd have to specify what your price range is. I have personal experience, and a lot of my friends do as well. You can PM me anytime if you have questions!ilikebaseball wrote:Are there any affordable apts within walking distance of smooo?
