It takes time to carefully word a no-spots email to make us think that there is still a sliver of hope.dancers1126 wrote:Last time they were a few days late with the update...

I have too much time on my hands (based on LSN numbers):
wait list accepts: 14
wait list rejected: 2
wait list self-removal: 51
wait list remaining: 129
splitter wait list remaining: 22
splitter wait list accepts: 2 (36.8% over the last 3 years = 6 more expected, 27% chance)

Re: Georgetown Waitlist 2014
lol, you did this for three more schools so you really must have time. Great analysis - it seems like GULC is accepting reverse splitters off the WL this year rather than splitters from prior acceptances.dancers1126 wrote:I have too much time on my hands (based on LSN numbers):

Makes me wonder if they accepted way too many splitters during the regular cycle. Some positive news is that since higher LSATs are rarer than higher GPAs, this may lead to some applicants withdrawing from GULC to go to other T14 schools.
Pure speculation though. Still expecting an email at 5PM today saying the class is full.

Re: Georgetown Waitlist 2014
Well I was on 9 T-14 wait lists, just got off of one and withdrew from four but my patience is wearing thin so I'm looking for info where i can get it....I didn't look at GULC but for NYU they actually accepted fewer regular splitters in the normal cycle than last year. Think it's just a matter of time. The higher ranked schools in the T-14 have had quite a bit of movement, think it just hasn't trickled down to GULC yet.collegebum1989 wrote:lol, you did this for three more schools so you really must have time. "As we now head into July, our deposits remain very strong and, as a result, the Committee on Admissions will not be able to offer you admission to Georgetown University Law Center this fall. Your placement on the Waiting List reflected our confidence in the strength of your application. At this time, however, we have received deposits from more applicants than we have seats available in the first year class. Consequently, we are unable to extend an offer of admission to you this year.
We appreciate your interest in our program and wish you success in your future endeavors."

But absolutely true about not having to wait anymore!
Can I ask what your stats were like?

Not sure if it's the same person, but someone with a 165 3.7 was dropped from the waiting list today according to LSN.

Re: Georgetown Waitlist 2014
I am 166, 3.3 - chemistry major, Georgetown undergrad (I'm not on LSN). I knew my numbers weren't up to snuff. I think I was just waitlisted so they wouldn't anger me as an alum...dancers1126 wrote:I'm sorry. :/mec246 wrote:Yes, just a few minutes ago. Re: Georgetown Waitlist 2014
Just got this....
Now that it’s early July, as promised I wanted to send you another quick e-mail update on the waitlist situation at Georgetown. Our class is still currently oversubscribed, but these things do sometimes have a way of changing quickly. We’re monitoring the class on a daily basis and we’re still hopeful that we will be able to contact you with good news in the future.
While we hope that you can continue to stay with us on the waitlist, we understand if you need to make other plans. For our part, we promise to keep you up to date on what’s going on. As I mentioned before, our next upcoming deadline is July 28th when the tuition payment is due for the current entering class. We will give you another update by August 4th, if you haven’t heard from us before then.
If spaces do become available, the Committee will move quickly. They have asked me to ask you to let us know if you wish to remain in consideration and where Georgetown fits in with your plans at this point. Please respond to this email as soon as possible at admis@law.georgetown.edu.

Dinged
25-50 for both the LSAT and GPA.
Honestly I was surprised to have even been waitlisted.
Glad to be off from the limbo!
