Are all of you that just got in via e-mail in-state applicants?

I'm not in state. Although I might as well be since I've mostly been applying to NC schools.

Re: UNC c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
Not necessarily a bad thing. They might just be breaking up their calls/emails for all in-state and then out of state...or compiling a rough draft WL...which wouldn't be the best newsBaby_Got_Feuerbach wrote:Attax wrote:I had hope until seeing you were all in state

If we haven't heard anything by now, Is it safe to assume its a wait list at best? I know April 1 was the decision day if its a positive...

Re: UNC c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
Anyone heard back yet about being waitlisted or rejected? Today is their first admitted students day and the first seat deposit is due next week. You think we will see movement then? What are the chances I will hear back May 1st that I am rejected after five solid months of pining for UNC Law? Anyone else feeling a little dejected?
Also would be nice to hear how the ASD went for those that attended. Congratulations!

Yeah, it would be nice to have some sort of a decision from them..even if it's bad news. Annoying that it's been over 4 months with no update, when all the other schools have been getting responses back much faster. I'm in a tough spot with deposit deadlines coming up. Anyone thinking about writing a LOCI?

Re: UNC c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
Had a LOCI drafted and ready to mail 4/1, guess I am both pessimistic and prepared?
I have read repeatedly not to mail LOCI until you are actually WL, and not a day before.
***Also it is recommended to actually mail paper LOCI not just email so it is easier for adcomm.***
Why not send a LOCI earlier?
1. May annoy/overwhelm already very busy adcomm.
2. Likely would send the app to the bottom of the pile for review if anything new is added.
(I already made mistake #2 by sending in more info so do not follow in my footsteps)

Re: UNC c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
I don't think that's true. I reached out to UNC (after waiting several months) to express my interest and, as result, they said they would try to take a look at my application sooner. I was admitted shortly thereafter.pketpket wrote:Had a LOCI drafted and ready to mail 4/1, guess I am both pessimistic and prepared?

Re: UNC c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
So we both did the exact same thing and had two different results. I say go on a gut feeling then for anyone considering a LOCI before actually being WL. I have not been WL or rejected yet, but it has been over three weeks since I talked with adcomm.
I read through the UNC c/o 2015 & 2016 threads and there is some more advice on LOCI and contacting adcomm.
