For my Need Access form, I do not speak to either of my parents anymore but it is making me input parental info anymore. I have filed independent since 2011, and my father last claimed me in 2010. Should I call, or is there an option on the form to not input parental info? They haven't contributed to my education since community college.

I called because I don't speak with one of my parents either. So they said that if you don't then you don't need to put their information because you simply can't lol.

Also Hastings doesn't ask for that information btw. Its probably one of your other schools that wants parent information.

Yeah I tried submitting without their info and it doesn't let me. Would this be a call each school thing or a call the Need Access people thing?

I got an email from Hastings on 2/17 acknowledging receipt of my Need Access and FAFSA but I haven't heard anything since. I'm getting kinda worried since most of you have heard back within a day or two of that email...

Got that email on the 17th as well. It hasn't been a week yet. I wouldn't be too worried. If the aid is need based I should be getting some because I didn't make much $ last year. I've heard they are stingy, so unless they make an exception an give me some significant $$ I'm probably going to pass. Good luck!

Check your spam folder, gmail put mine in there.

Are you also filling it out for Davis? If you remove Davis from your list it no longer asks for parent information, at least it didn't for me.

No 13k email. Just an email saying they got my NeedAccess app. I also didn't get a call, just an acceptance email.

Yea. I'm curious as to when the next wave of scholarships will come out. If I can get another $10k, I'd be golden.

Hahaha. I like that theory. I'll email them this week too. Mainly because one of the emails had a PS that said "We will strive to get grant and scholarship notices out within one week of the receipt of your Need Access data." And it's almost two weeks for me.
