It'd be three! But now I see that it's just you and I discussing this, so I should just make up my mind haha.TripTrip wrote:I think four might be stretching it a bit.![]()

Awesome! At least you'll have the chance to show off some of that personality.helix23 wrote:Adding that I was JS1ed in the first wave.
Grats to new JS1s. Fits with the theory that they are interviewing a big portion of the WL.

GZ to all the new JS1s, I'd say the main thing is not to stress out right before (and especially during) the interview.
And.. don't forget to fill in the spreadsheet!

Do any of you know if it is possible to do your JS/KB1 in person if you happen to be in Boston on the day of the interview?

I don't think so. It's made very clear that it's a skype interview.hamsamitchguy03 wrote:Do any of you know if it is possible to do your JS/KB1 in person if you happen to be in Boston on the day of the interview?

Re: Harvard Waitlist 2013
It's almost certain that the waitlist is not closed yet for this year.Longtimelurk wrote:Some numbers:
-28 reported acceptances off the waitlist last year
-80 reported waitlisters this year
If we assume last year there was a similar sized waitlist (is there a way we can know?) we can expect somewhere around 28/80 to get in this year?
~35% shot of getting in off waitlist.
Does that seem reasonable?
I ran some numbers in an earlier post. My guess is that they're going to waitlist more than 600 and admit about 150. And I would say that that's an optimistic view. So about 25% is probably the upper bound of what we're looking at.

Re: Harvard Waitlist 2013
i need a little advice here... i just sent a LOCI in last week, but this week i found out about an internship that starts next month. would this be a substantial enough update to bother them with? i'd also need them to update my contact info... again... should i just wait until i start next month?
basically will another update read needy/desperate/creepy or not? my gut feeling is to wait till next month.

Also, my editor says there were 80 WL--->WL applicants who never updated their profiles to Admit or Deny. I think it's reasonable to assume most of these were deny, but it's probably useful to show the number in the OP.

I just mean the mylsn waitlists who are not "2011-2012 Waitlist->Accepts" or "2011-2012 Waitlist->Rejects". You have those data, and the acceptance rate from every other year, but not the 2011-2012 acceptance rate.helix23 wrote:What's WL--->WL? Oh I see. I'll add. Let me know if what I put down is erroneous or inaccurate.TripTrip wrote:I just mean the mylsn waitlists who are not "2011-2012 Waitlist->Accepts" or "2011-2012 Waitlist->Rejects". I think mylsn doesn't catch some users because some don't put in their GPA. I manually counted and the total WLs is actually 131, not 80. Means my totals for the other cycles might be off.
Added "2011-2012: 28 Accept. Total WL: 131. Acceptance Rate: 21.4%" to the OP

Sweet. Is it bad how high 20% sounds?
I wish LSN tracked JS1s.

I think (I suppose I should know, shouldn't I?) that you can include people who don't enter a GPA by including "0" in the range. Same thing with LSAT - so that gives 84 people:helix23 wrote:

However, the WL number does not include those who later reported a final decision of either accept or deny - so that would account for the other missing people.

My counts must have been off. 84 WL + 28 WL/A + 18 WL/R = 130 (not 131). I'll edit OP to reflect.

Re: Harvard Waitlist 2013
FYI, I found this on last year's thread. Interesting to see the 1->2 conversion rate off of the waitlist:
~~~~~~~~~~~
2010 Waitlist
People given JR1s = 18
JR1s that turned into combo JR2s = 18
2011 Waitlist
People given JR1s= 21
People given JR2s=18
This looks too good to be true this year. They've already given ~20 post-WL JS1s. Unless they accept the majority and don't give out any more of course..broadstreet11 wrote:FYI, I found this on last year's thread. Interesting to see the 1->2 conversion rate off of the waitlist:
I think we'll be done with JS1s for a bit. At least until they get through everyone who has already received an invite. I'm thinking no earlier than this Friday.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
