Does anyone know if we have any way of knowing when our interviewer actually submitted how the interview went?

Application complete 12/05. Interviewed 12/10. Updated LSAT score this past Thursday. Sending in scholarship application on Monday in the hope of them reading it and realizing I should be admitted ( please D: ). I've really loved learning about Vanderbilt and I hope all this work will pay off. Not getting my hopes up though. Weak consider on LSP

Checking in... Slim chance based off numbers. Strong on-campus interview with strong softs and a grad degree. Here's to hoping softs matter...

To the poster who asked about emailing decisions- they rarely do that, at least for acceptances this cycle. They send you a FedEx package.

No they do not e-mail. My status checker changed a day or two before I received the acceptance box in the mail. Never received an email. Good luck!bob loblaw11 wrote:My status changed to decision mailed on 1/4 but I didn't recieve an email. Do they always email with acceptance? Uh oh?

I've worked full-time for a fortune 300 company since high school (over 8 years now) without ever taking less than 5 classes at a time in undergrad. I have received several promotions and awards and quickly moved from a grunt to a career role. This involved hundreds of projects and a relocation to their corporate headquarters. I also hold a graduate degree (accelerated program while still working full-time) from a top-tier university. My interviewer was impressed and repeatedly commented on my maturity and successes. Oh... and some volunteer work to boot.BigZuck wrote:What are strong softs?teiswei wrote:Checking in... Slim chance based off numbers. Strong on-campus interview with strong softs and a grad degree. Thank you! This would be my first acceptance so I'll be nervous that I have a huge typo in my PS until I see the VLS swag bag

Has anyone received the email regarding the Admitted Students Program (as referenced on the "Visit Vanderbilt" page of the acceptance letter packet)? My email has been super finicky with law school admissions emails -- I found an important email from another school in my spam folder. Sooo, I'm a little nervous about that.

Is there any indicator of a decision before snail mail? I've been checking the VLS link I was given daily for a decision letter mailed date. Did all admits see this change before getting a package in the mail?learntolift wrote:in today via huge package from fed ex (makes me think i missed the email)

Yes, pretty sure that is the case. Status checker changes and you get the package in two business days.a2blifeUIUC wrote:Is there any indicator of a decision before snail mail? Anyone who's applying for the Law school Merit Awards know how long the individual answers are supposed to be for each of the questions?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I am writing about 200 words for each of the questions. They say that the answers could be handwritten and it doesn't seem like much space is provided (if hand-writing), so I'm assuming they want the answers to be thorough, but curt. I think anywhere from 150-200 words would be reasonable, but I could be wrong.firstimer wrote:Anyone who's applying for the Law school Merit Awards know how long the individual answers are supposed to be for each of the questions?

Hmm. My interviewer told me that our interview did not have any affect on an admissions decision. Bad sign?

Re: Vanderbilt c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 Cycle)
Greetings to my potential future classmates. I was accepted mid-December, but I have been negligent about posting.
As my only acceptance until yesterday, I have been envisioning myself in Nashville in the fall for about a month now. I received a call yesterday from UT Austin, and I am now faced with a decision. I doubt that I am going to hear anything from my reach schools (at least anything about $) at this point, so I think it will come down to these two.
Anyone in a similar situation care to share thoughts about the decision-making process?

How about: UT if you're from there and want to work in Texas, Vandy if you have ties to/want to work anywhere else?Philosophizer wrote:Greetings to my potential future classmates. I was accepted mid-December, but I have been negligent about posting.![]()

Similar except for one or two questions where I went longer (about 500 words).harveyfan wrote:I am writing about 200 words for each of the questions. You guys do understand why these answers are so popular right?talesofyore wrote:Philosophizer wrote:I was hoping for something a bit more insightful, but thanks.BigZuck wrote:How about: UT if you're from there and want to work in Texas, Vandy if you have ties to/want to work anywhere else?Philosophizer wrote:Greetings to my potential future classmates. This (just go where you have ties) is actually one of the two most popular answers on this board. The second is retake and sit out a year unless you get $$$ from a T-14.
I am honestly considering between Vandy and UT as well, if you guys think there are other important considerations then pose them and let's discuss!
Eta: although it might be better as a new post in Choosing a Law School.

Fair points. Perhaps I should relocate this discussion. I had in mind issues like collegiality, class size, alumni networks, etc. I suppose I should work all of this out for myself, but I thought I'd crowdsource and enter into some discussion.BigZuck wrote: You guys do understand why these answers are so popular right?
