I should write back telling them thanks for considering me and that I visited last year and loved it. Horrible idea. Right?
Figured it was a bad idea. Wasn't even considering it anyway, hah.

My mom (an attorney who no longer practices) is convinced that law school is ALWAYS a good investment and that after law school you don't have to practice law. And for some reason hates Berkeley, which I love ):

My mom used an emoticon in a text last week and I almost shat myself. Haha, same over here. A lot of my friends also hate me for suggesting that they retake their low 160s LSATs. And I'm even acutely aware of saying it very nicely, because it can seem pretentious.slack_academic wrote:My parents used to think I was an elitist jerk because I shit on schools like Southwestern and Chapman. With your numbers, you're a shoe-in - even for RD - so I have to admit I'm surprised it's taken this long. It's going to be a really long 3 weeks if they keep us waiting until the very end of the month.hattrick87 wrote:LSN has also been quiet the last two days.... ughhh.ams929 wrote:I was just going to ask....I got nothin.hattrick87 wrote:Any other ED'ers hear anything?

Has anyone not received a scholarship offer who believes they were competitive for one based on their numbers/overall app? I was really banking on going to UCLA but without any merit aid I feel like it just makes more sense to go to the highest ranked school that admits me.
Would it be a bad idea to ask if there is still a chance I will receive a scholly?

I'd wait just a tad longer. Decisions don't have to be made for quite awhile.avghopeful wrote:Has anyone not received a scholarship offer who believes they were competitive for one based on their numbers/overall app? Thanks! It's definitely eased the tension of this cycle.avghopeful wrote:Yeah, that's probably best... I just hate having to waitdigifly wrote:I'd wait just a tad longer. For the record, they seem VERY open to negotiation, so I'd definitely get in touch sometime. I just think that if you're too quick to jump the gun they will likely know that you're not facing any other time-sensitive decisions and may be less worried. Just my opinion, though!

I was pretty surprised (not floored) when I didn't get one since I heard back from them within 3 weeks and I'm a Los Angeles native. Will probably call later on in the cycle, especially if I have something from another school to work with.avghopeful wrote:Has anyone not received a scholarship offer who believes they were competitive for one based on their numbers/overall app? Still not a peep. Nobody here or on LSN has reported anything since Monday, in contrast to last year when people heard almost every day in the first week of December. 3 days of review = Friday decisions? Ohhh conjecture.

Re: UCLA c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I think that the schools have figured out that admitting students early doesn't really increase their yield. My theory is that movement is going to continue being slower than usual, especially until the middle to end of this month since that's the height of ED/EA season for most of the T14 and there's no point in admitting someone who might get snatched up by ED at Michigan, Penn, NYU, GULC etc.hattrick87 wrote:Still not a peep.
