Except it's not? People have asked about the stages of the review process and what each one is called ("processing" vs. "complete" vs. "under review"). Besides people mentioning the dates being updated, no one has suggested if there's a Georgetown-like structure to it.

I saw a list that claimed NYU was the only T14 school that makes offers of admission via snail mail. Is this actually the case? Do they really not send emails/update the status checker with their decision?

Georgetown does snail mail as well.

They might call for ED admits.... or at least I think they did last year.

Rejections dont start till next year, so you dont have to worry about that for awhile. If you get a DLS before then, youre in.

Not necessarily. I believe NW has a "Decision Letter Rendered" status which can mean a waitlist or hold.

So usually how many updates are there? Went UR in September and updated once in October.

Even if that's historically been true, the hurricane may have set them back this year. NYU was without power for about a week.
