IN via ASW. Insanity.

Can I interject a quick question here? Not trying to hijack the thread but this question probably doesn't warrant its own--

I'm not applying this cycle, but I'm following NYU acceptances because I'm hoping to get in next time around. What does it mean when people say they were "admitted via ASW"? I know ASW means "admitted students weekend," but I don't understand how one could be admitted 'via' that kind of thing.

If you can successfully log into the Admitted Students' Website, it means your in (even if this happens before you receive an email/call from the school)

Edit: Thanks for answering about the ASW...and I meant Wednesday not Thursday

Does anyone know if these offers have an expiration date? "Gauging Interest" call on Thursday. Able to log onto ASW today. Wanted to see how long I had to decide on whether or not to accept.

ASW is a confusing acronym in these parts because it means both admitted student weekend and admitted student website. This is referring to the latter. moreprejthanprob was able to log into the admitted student website (a backdoor way of figuring out if you've been accepted).

My friend with very similar stats also got the call around the same time but is currently unable to log on. I highly doubt they would reject you out of the blue in July, after an interest call. As a disclaimer though, I am basing this on no previous knowledge. However I do have the added benefit of being able to look at the situation without any crazy nervousness like you guys. I would be willing to be congratulations are in order soon.
