Congratulations to all those that have been admitted and good luck to those still waiting. I just got my acceptance email this wednesday. I am very excited. I've visited the campus, and I was very impressed with what I saw at UCI. It feels like a great place to be.

late thanksgiving submit, still haven't heard back. 3.7x, 163. God damn it. Really feel like I'm going to get WL'd.

I have the exact same numbers, but I didn't get mine in until early/mid January. It seems like we're on the edge between admit and WL. LSN shows people getting WL between 160-162, so maybe 163 might make it in. Anyway, maybe wait time just means they're not sure what to do with you and they don't want to WL. haha I may be completely shooting in the dark, but it's a nice thought.bingbang1025 wrote:late thanksgiving submit, still haven't heard back. 3.7x, 163. You're probably right. Going by LSN, a 164 seems to be their sweet spot (weird that there are no 163's on LSN) but hopefully your high GPA's help! Hope you guys get in!D1Swimmer wrote:I have the exact same numbers, but I didn't get mine in until early/mid January. It seems like we're on the edge between admit and WL. I'm wondering, do scholarship offers come with the original acceptance letter or do they come later?

Thanks Magnifique1908. I got my acceptance letter today without scholarship info, so I was beginning to worry.Magnifique1908 wrote:Separate mailing about a week later.JDProspect wrote:I'm wondering, do scholarship offers come with the original acceptance letter or do they come later?

Hey guys, does irvine give out any need-based aid at all? And if so, did anybody receive any? Also, why did people with lower stats than I get more scholarship $$ (lawschoolnumbers). Do you think I can negotiate with them for more. Its like a big 50k difference...

Got my acceptance letter in the mail. I've been reading a lot about UCI, and it seems like a great place to learn and build a legacy. I've made it my top choice.

My doorbell just rang and it's the mailman. I received scholarship info from UCI and they are offering me $20K

Yeah, it's really not even worth comparing. I've lived in Westwood, Irvine, and Newport and I'd take Irvine/Newport over Westwood any day.cheergirl wrote:just went down there the other weekend and can i say that orange county (at least irvine & newport) is wayyyy better than LA? the streets are soooo wide and everything is so much more clean and pretty haha.

Haha, yep Westwood is such an awful mess. If I ever got into UCLA (right now that's looking HIGHLY unlikely), I would have to move all of one mile just to be on the other side of that dang freeway.padawanphil wrote:Yeah, it's really not even worth comparing. Yield Protected via Waitlist. Kind of a shame. A big scholarship at Irvine was competitive for me, since I care so much about clerkship placement.

you guys are comparing apples and oranges, TBF. irvine is very clean, modern, safe, and pleasant, but it's also very sterile, culture-less and has no nightlife. it's a trade-off, i think, though FWIW i really loved the 3 years i spent in irvine.padawanphil wrote:Yeah, it's really not even worth comparing. Visiting this week, I'll post thoughts next week or so.
Pretty sure it's going to be between UCI and UCLA for me...kinda torn...
