I guess it makes sense to me. They seem to make scholarship decisions on more than just numbers and put thought into whether or not someone will receive a scholarship. Also, I guess since Emory is ranked pretty high (highest in Georgia) they know others will jump at the spot of someone isn't content with their scholarship. Kinda sucks, but I also see where their coming from.
I also wouldn't advice anyone on here to keep negotiating with scholarships. It obviously doesn't work and is probably just a waste of your time and their's.

I personally am waiting for an acceptance

But two of my classmates are Woodruff finalists, so yes, they have been notified based on my understanding.

I got rejected for Woodruff, so you should have found out one way or another.

Interesting...I applied and I've yet to hear one way or the other.

Possibly you could be on a waitinglist if they have one...but don't quote me on that because I have no idea

I applied for Woodruff and didn't hear back whether I was selected as a finalist. However, I was offered $90K a week ago, so I assumed I didn't get it...

I checked the website. They are only pick for people for Woodruff this year (15 finalist, 4 actually receive the award). From what I've seen looking at former fellows, you have to be pretty kick-ass to receive it.
The site also says you should be notified by mid-February. If you don't hear back by March 1, you aren't a finalist because the weekend for the finalist is March, 1.

Any idea when the next wave of decisions should be coming? I thought I remembered seeing something about this week, but I could be making that up.

EmoryAdmissionDean wrote:Hi – this is Ethan Rosenzweig, the dean of admission and financial aid at Emory Law. Thank you for allowing me to post in this forum from time-to-time. The application-review portion of the admission cycle is in full-swing, and I thought it helpful to provide an update about where we are in the process at this point.
• Next Wave of Decisions: Less than half of our acceptances are mailed in the first wave. We are working towards sending an additional group of acceptances by the middle of next week. Those accepted in this next wave will receive their acceptance letter, admitted students booklet and merit scholarship notification (if awarded) all in one envelope.
We anticipate sending additional acceptances following this next wave as well. Our goal is to have all applicants notified of their standing by late March.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to reach out to us at admission(a)law.emory.edu.
So yes that would mean they were hoping to have them out by middle of this week.

K, thanks. I thought I remembered seeing that, but when it wasn't in the most recent 2 pages, I wasn't sure if I had this confused with another school.

ME!!!
I called the admissions office today, though, and they emailed me my scholarship letter. She was really nice and helpful, and I definitely recommend giving them a call if you haven't gotten your packet yet.
I have $18k/year, which shocked me and my measly 3.2/166. I didn't think I'd get anything at all!

Has anyone received an acceptance letter this week, yet? Just wondering if the midweek wave anticipated this week has started yet for anyone.

Sorry to ask a silly question - does anyone know when they start sending out the letters that aren't acceptances? ie: the ones that aren't good news.
I'm a pessimist, and part of me just wants to get ax'ed so I can move on.

Received mine today. Included the acceptance letter and scholly in the package. This was the only school I was waiting to hear back from. So relieved for the cycle to be over, now if I can just pick a school...

If you don't mind could you tell what state you're located in? I'm trying to get a sense for when I'll receive mine.

I think they send both good news and bad news and purgatory news (waitlist) all at the same time in waves. Someone posted a letter from Dean of Admissions saying that this week, midweek, would be the next wave. I'm guessing it starts today since Auburn received hers.
Hopefully I'll have something waiting for me when I get home - this is my last school that I am seriously waiting to hear back from before making my final decision on schools.
