For all of you freaking out about decisions, I've got this for you. (not sure if it will make you feel better or worse). I was one of the last waitlists in the door. My acceptance letter was dated July 13th! 1st semester grades came out today. - 3.4 which puts me in the top third of the class. If nothing else, understand that when you get in really doesn't have that much to do with your success in law school. And since I know people will ask, me entrance numbers were 162/ 3.3

All documents received on my status checker after applying Wednesday. Now the waiting game begins haha. I'm jealous of all of you guys who are nearing the end of your waits.
EDIT: Rudy, are you an in-stater?

I don't know, my numbers aren't that impressive. I have great softs, which is what I think did it for me at GT and Michi, but I don't know how much attention UF pays to that. From what I've seen on this board, they simply use a numerical index to admit students...and that makes me a bit nervous. I hope they tell me soon! Good luck, you guys.broncos_fan_26 wrote:r u kidding me? if u dont get in to UF, its cuz of YPgatorlaw wrote:Is it a bad idea to contact them regarding the NDR or to send in a LOCI at this point? Thanks a lot!!! I hope you hear something back soon.KibblesnBitts wrote:Congrats on having a decision reached, Zach Braff. I live in the exact middle of Georgia, so I don't know how long it will take to get the package. Congrats to everyone who got a decision!!!

Decision reached as of 1/09. I really wish they would just tell me now instead of making me wait for the postal service to inform me

For those who have decisions at this point, how long did it take from going under "initial review" to getting a decision?

I know this doesn't exactly answer your question. But, it seems like UF pulls based on index number (see several pages back about index number). The first batch were all 5.8+, this batch seems to be 5.7+. If your numbers are in that range somewhere, you'll probably hear back quicker.twirlygirl wrote:For those who have decisions at this point, how long did it take from going under "initial review" to getting a decision?

does anyone here know how easy UF is with negotiating scholly money? I am instate and with a high LSAT expecting some acceptances/$$ at schools a bit ahead of UF but am starting to freak out and think that graduating from here with minimal debt is the best route.

My application went complete on December 9, and the status remained complete until it changed to "File Reviewed, No Decision Reached" on December 19th. I got the "Final Decision" notice on January 9th. Hope this helps. Good luck with all your applications.twirlygirl wrote:For those who have decisions at this point, how long did it take from going under "initial review" to getting a decision?

I had a very nice scholarship from that other not to be named state school. It didn't mean anything to the board I guess (but there's a serious superiority complex here). Anyway, I know a few people that got their scholarships adjusted higher, but they were out of state. I got nothing despite being above one 75% and very near the other 75%. It wouldn't hurt to try negotiating, just don't get your hopes up.barneytrouble wrote:does anyone here know how easy UF is with negotiating scholly money? Unfortunately I'm no longer holding out much hope. I sent in my app the same day as a hospital visit where I was heavily medicated - thought it would be a good idea to send it in then. Unfortunately, I sent in my regular PS instead of an academic statement.
Under initial review - probably not going to be pretty.

As long as the rest of your application is strong, you probably shouldn't strees too much about the Personal Statement. Mine was the same as the PS for every other school I applied to and was only two pages, but it was about an academic experience. I only mentioned attending school at UF at the very end. I think lots of people use their regular PS instead of an academic statement.jaysgirl42671 wrote:Unfortunately I'm no longer holding out much hope. Thank you for making me feel better. My index # is above a 5.7 so I don't know if that's good, but I felt like such an idiot when I realized that.

TBH I think they just read the PS to make sure that you can write.

Lol, but I agree. Seems like a lot of people who got in last year just used their regular PS. I haven't found anything that leads me to believe UF looks beyond your numbers.seancris wrote:TBH I think they just read the PS to make sure that you can write.

Mine was my personal statement. I had a 2.8. Don't sweat it.jaysgirl42671 wrote:Unfortunately I'm no longer holding out much hope. I'm very far away from my mailbox now... anyone check their mail to see if they get their letter sent on the 9th? (FL residents)
