Congrats to all the acceptances! When did everyone apply? I am still complete at 11/01, but I feel like I have good numbers for WUSTL

Just noticed I got the 12/2 status change also. Submitted 10/26, complete 10/28. Hopefully we all get letters in the mail Monday morning.
FWIW, I also checked the "This section does not apply to me." box on the Why WUSTL.

How many of you got fee waivers? I emailed them asking for one a day ago, waiting to hear back to submit. It is one of my top choices, but I got a 171 LSAT and am living off a law clerk salary in downtown Chicago, so money is tight to say the least.
When would you say it would be best to just bite the bullet and pay the fee if I don't hear back from them by? Mid week?

I say wait another day and maybe call. I had to solicit a bunch of my fee waivers and I am sooo glad I did because I was successful with most (including WUSTL) and it did save me a lot. They should respond soon tho. Some people I emailed took two days, but I can't remember if WUSTL was one of them....STLMizzou wrote:How many of you got fee waivers? I solicited one back in October and got a response the next day with the code. However, seeing how it is much busier now, it might take a bit longer.DonnaDraper wrote:I say wait another day and maybe call. I would not bite the bullet and pay until very late in the game. Like March late. You are > 167, presumably have greater than usual reasons for being here, and want to apply. Pretty sure they'll waive that for you. I'm actually sitting ~30 feet from the admissions office. I could go leave a note saying "Send STLMizzou a fee waiver (his lsat is > 167), thx." You know, if you want me to and repay me a piece of scratch paper next year if you end up here.STLMizzou wrote:How many of you got fee waivers? Ha, how about a beer? I really love the school, it is my top choice if I can make it a fiscally viable option. My tiny studio apartment costs me about $1,000 a month out of my pay, so every bit I can save is nice.
Is it just me, or are the WashU students one of the nicer groups of students on this forum?

I'll confess I don't know the intricacies of admissions, but I have read repeatedly on this site that if you want scholarship you should apply no later than christmas, since they will probably have done the bulk of money allocations by thenKabuo wrote:I would not bite the bullet and pay until very late in the game. I generally prefer beer to scratch paper.STLMizzou wrote:Ha, how about a beer? I really love the school, it is my top choice if I can make it a fiscally viable option. My tiny studio apartment costs me about $1,000 a month out of my pay, so every bit I can save is nice.

And regarding the no money if you apply later thing, that is always a concern, but WUSTL is pretty determined to maintain its median and pretty loaded. IIRC, last year they didn't even start admitting 167s til March or something, so until then I think a 168 is the standard 75k+.

I didn't apply until LATE January last year and still got the same scholarship I would have anyway. Trust me, they haven't even begun making scholarship allocation yet. That may be a problem at some schools, but not here.chem wrote:I'll confess I don't know the intricacies of admissions, but I have read repeatedly on this site that if you want scholarship you should apply no later than christmas, since they will probably have done the bulk of money allocations by thenKabuo wrote:I would not bite the bullet and pay until very late in the game. Re: WUSTL c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I agree with this. I think the earliest scholly offers were out when I got mine, in early Feb, but I think they keep enough in reserve to offer it to all LSATs above or at the desired median. I also know they were negotiating very late in the game.soccerfreak wrote: I didn't apply until LATE January last year and still got the same scholarship I would have anyway. Well I feel a little better that there was more than 1 person who updated to 12/2 that actually got an acceptance email. Congrats everyone!
Hopefully the rest of us that updated get an email today.

I thought acceptances would blow up today.. but it looks like it might be a slow Monday. Or maybe they will wait until closer to closing time

I was expecting an answer from at least one school today, so far all quiet.msblaw89 wrote:I thought acceptances would blow up today.. but it looks like it might be a slow Monday. Or maybe they will wait until closer to closing time
