JUST GOT A CALL FROM DEAN TOM!!! I'M IN!!!!! He said they wont be updating status checkers for a while. I'm so happy.

Congrats! I'm gonna freak out every time my phone rings for the next 2-3 hours, though I know none of them will be Berkeley since I'm not going to get accepted.

No kidding. There's no telling how my body will react to the next phone call I get

During my call I had told Dean Tom that I was literally just looking at status checker (which I was) about an hour ago. He told that they wouldn't be updating those for a while. So don't use that as a guide. Good luck!

Last year they made phone calls on Tuesday and Wednesday too! So maybe they'll do the same this year.

Curious1 - I am really intrigued by your GPA. It's within Berkeley's median (I think?) and your LSAT is superb, but Berkeley is totally unpredictable when it comes to admissions below... well below anything, but especially at ~3.7.

I have a similar GPA and a similar LSAT, but had written off Berkeley as a waitlist --> ding (though I still applied... albeit later than you did).

Did you have a Berkeley specific PS (or at least one that was noticeably longer than 2 pages)? Are you a CA resident?

My GPA is actually slightly below 3.7 according to LSAC. However, I have reason to believe that Berkeley looked at my UGPA instead since the one bad grade was from a community college course in high school (my UGPA is slightly above 3.7...so no big jump either way.

I think what got me in was my PS--it was a subject I thought Berkeley would like and they did!

Congrats to everyone who had phone calls! I hope we get more coming in in the next couple days... If not, don't worry people. It's still really early. Does anyone know what they do with international applications and phone calls? Do they just call while we're probably sleeping and hope for the best?
