I'm not so sure it would be so easy to get in-state tuition...quoted from the TLS profile of Illinois:
'A second year student gives us this website that describes how one can gain residency in Illinois. Overall, says Pless, “residency is hard to change. You must be in Illinois for non-educational purposes, which is tough to prove once you are here for school.”
A few things can get you that cheaper in-state tuition. If one of your parents lives in Illinois, you are automatically considered a resident. One expensive way to gain residency is by purchasing property in Illinois, while another way, more risqué, is to find an Illinois resident, drop down on one knee, and get that person to marry you. Since you can never plan on love, gaining residency is a crapshoot for many students, and a 2L reports that “it is possible after a year here, but not easy.”'
The profiles can be a little outdated so they may have relaxed a little bit, but I doubt it. 90k is still a sweet deal for a pretty legit school though!
Thanks, Buzz Killington. That means $5,154 of tuition, or 5.42% of sticker. Who wants to go halvsies on a plot of wilderness?
Aw I don't wanna be Buzz Killington my bad! Just makin sure we know what's goin on haha I ain't tellin stories about bridges!
Where are you getting the $5,154 figure from though? OOS is 40k a year right? I'm confused. I am interested in a plot of wilderness just for the hell of it though.

I got that number from catadonia, evidently. $40k is correct, which makes it more of a 75% scholarship and, more importantly, further cements your new status as Buzz Killington.
On the other hand this make that plot of wilderness all the more lucrative, surely one can be obtained for less than the $14,000 it would save you, and you can always sell your wilderness at the end of law school. This plan is flawless.

Ugh, I'm in a hole now. I bet the only way I can stop being Buzz Killington is by hand delivering your next acceptance letter.

At $3500/acre I think you could overlook the unexploded ordinance and designation as a superfund site.

WL at Vanderbilt today. The way my cycle is going, it's looking like I might be taking a year off and reapplying.

I finally stopped getting Cooley mailings (like post cards and letters). Regent and Roger Williams is still coming nonstop though.

Restored it. Anyone with a google account can restore it which makes me wonder why people bother trolling it.

I would just write the word Deferred, or code a new color and label it "DF"...I'm inept with Excel so I can't do it haha

I'm a 170 super splitter. Can't say that I have a real shot for the T14, but I have been able to get into schools I definitely would not have been able to with my 2.73. The jury is still out on some of my T14 apps too, so who knows. The power of the LSAT is interesting. Top school so far is WUSTL, which I got into with the first wave of acceptances.

It got vandalized again so whoever is doing it is pretty persistent. If keeps up we might have to lock it down so only approved people can edit, then there is accountability because they will have to be logged in to edit.
Also, since we had no denials and one defer, R is now rejected (denied), and D is deferred, it auto-colors to orange.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
