What does one include in a LOCI? And would they accept a new (under the guise of "updated") PS/resume? Man though, April?! Not even January with everyone else! That's just rude :/

Because you were ED, you also have the opportunity to reaffirm your commitment to the school. I know Chicago does optional statements, not sure of CLS policy. I would definitely update the resume. I wouldn't rehash a personal statement, but maybe add a DS if there wasn't one before?

Thanks for the help, Kili! Gotta go over all that in-depth but I didn't write a DS - I will now, though. I couldn't find anything about reaffirming my commitment though. I assume by that you mean I can tell them that if they accept me I will definitely go (like ED)?

You're welcome! Sorry for the lack of clarity. Yes, your suggestion would be one option. Either way, I would be sure to draw attention to the fact that you were ED. This will remind them that you committed there, it was your first choice, that you love CLS, etc. It will allow your LOCI to have content that other LOCI's won't have. Make sure to be optimistic, too. A negative or bitter tone in reference to the ED app may do more damage than good.

If I get in, I'd be happy to proof it for you. A big IF though.

Keep your chin up, the stats are scary but TLS is biased as you know. The average EDer here and on LSN is probably not the average EDer. Also didn't you get a grade request? You're a-okay!

As far as my LOCI I will definitely be taking you up on that offer, even if you dont get in (But you will!) And hopefully one day we'll both find ourselves in Columbia's hallowed halls.

Just got deferred via email. Wow! I'm shocked... 3.81/172 wtf??? Hope the rest of you got some good news. 4:48PM btw.

Sorry to hear that, I'm pretty shocked with your numbers too. I can't imagine it was you canceling June 2010, since I bombed June 2010 and hit 172 in October, and ended up with them asking for grades, of all things. Good luck with everything though. Where else did you apply again?

....obviously there is a correlation between grade requests and still being an undergrad! They can't ask people out of school for fall grades.
Maybe you meant a correlation between acceptances and being in undergrad?
