So my file was complete on 10/28. Any idea when I should hear back?

Re: Texas 2011 Applicants
Nothing that's been said has offended me in the least.
But seriously, is there any value whatsoever in reaching out to Texas after being dinged. On one hand, I was dinged - I should let it go and not be a pain in the ass. On the other hand, I really, really want to go to Texas and have nothing to lose (I think) by inquiring. Thoughts?
And on Austin, if you don't go to Barton Springs you are missing out.

Perhaps you have seen this already, but UT says the following on their website:username99 wrote:Nothing that's been said has offended me in the least.

If my application for admission is denied, can I appeal that decision, or can I request a reconsideration?
Within 30 days of the date of denial, you may petition for reconsideration by submitting a letter addressed to the Assistant Dean for Admissions indicating your reasons. Reconsideration requests will only be considered if there is some significant, additional information that was not available at the time of your original application. The Committee's initial decision will have been based upon all factors, academic and nonacademic, included in your application. In those rare instances in which the petition is granted, the usual result is that the candidate is placed on a waiting list. The number of offers of admission expected to produce the desired entering class probably will have been made by the time your petition is considered.

I was told 1.5 weeks after getting the acceptance packet that I'd hear more about the $$$.yanksbgood wrote:Got my acceptance packet in the mail. Found out I got rejected last week. 3.49/173 out of state. Sucks but not surprising because of my GPA and out of state status. 1 for 2 so far...

From what I've heard Texas tends to be very picky about GPA. That is to say, you can have a great Lsat but if your GPA is too low they'll just ax youwhymeohgodno wrote:Texas hates splitters?dabbadon8 wrote:Found out I got rejected last week. 3.49/173 out of state. Re: Texas 2011 Applicants
Makes me worried that a 174/3.49 is getting straight out rejected when I'm simply a 168/3.79...LSP also said a 174/3.49 is an admit at UT also.JazzOne wrote:That's the rumor. Yeah I have heard that too and was expecting a reject/WL. I got georgetown already so I am more worried about the rest of the T-14 for now. Spending most of my time freaking out in the Michigan thread.swiftwings88 wrote:From what I've heard Texas tends to be very picky about GPA. Re: Texas 2011 Applicants
I'm just annoyed about waiting. I applied the 20th of october and was complete on the status checker by 10/28. Most other people I've read with similar dates have heard back already. Ditto for SMU. I just want to find out what the deal is. I know I don't have much of a shot but I have good softs so we'll see.

Re: Texas 2011 Applicants
Some speculated on another thread a while back that LSP isn't nearly as accurate when it comes to splitters. Anecdotally, this appears to be true.whymeohgodno wrote:Makes me worried that a 174/3.49 is getting straight out rejected when I'm simply a 168/3.79...LSP also said a 174/3.49 is an admit at UT also.JazzOne wrote:That's the rumor.
