Need some advice people. I have been under review since 12/9 with numbers above both 75ths (instate), but was advised against sending a letter of LOCI until they have made a final decision on my app. Anything else I can do or am I resigned to this fate of waiting?

I just looked at your LSN. I see you got into alot of similarly ranked schools that feed into the same market (more or less). Is UNC among the top of your list?

So who here still hasn't heard. My application was complete 12/8 (though I've since updated it with fall grades, etc) and I'm still listed as "ready for review." A lot of my friends who are 1-2L's at UNC have told me that they heard around mid-February. Between that knowledge and working on my master's thesis, I REALLY need some good news (be it in the form of an acceptance email or a Carolina win tonight).

Just for the record, I'd rather get in to UNC Law then have the Heels beat Duke tonight. I had to think about it for a few seconds, though.

UNC vs Duke is just about the only BB game I watch outside of the sweet sixteen. I guess I'll take some time off of refreshing my status checkers to watch the game tonight.

I think that UNC staff are going to be in a bad mood for the next few days, and you probably don't want your application to be touched under those circumstances.

Kind of ridiculous that I've been ready for review since early Nov but complete pretty much as soon as the app opened. Whatever though b/c I'm a Dukie and prob a bad idea for me to turn my back and go to UNC.

I think that UNC staff are going to be in a bad mood for the next few days, and you probably don't want your application to be touched under those circumstances.

I watched the game at Top of the Hill and turned down the opportunity to be interviewed on WRAL for fear I might say something incredibly stupid. To say that the second half of last night's game was a disappointment is like saying that Watergate was a bump in the road for Richard Nixon (a dukie law graduate).

In other news, I'm meeting with a UNC law professor today so I'll share anything I learn about the process (in general) with you guys.

Tough loss indeed. You knew Duke was going to make a run, the question was whether this young Tar Heel team could handle it. Overall, I'm not terribly disappointed, it always sucks to lose but for this team the sky is the limit. They will continue to get better and better. I'm ready for the rematch in Chapel Hill.

FYI, for those looking at this thread and saying "stop talking about basketball," UNC might not be the best school for you. Just to illustrate, the engineering firm where I work part-time now effectively shuts down for both the ACC tournament and the 1st-2nd rounds of the NCAA tournament. Studies have been done illustrating the effect of March Madness on productivity. Just saying.
