I rather hope so. Michigan basically has the trump card with the money factor, but I'm unsure of how to go about presenting that card to peer institutions. Also, last name near the front of the alphabet.

Yes it seems that for the most part scholarships are merit based (they look at need also, but FAFSA and NeedAccess aren't required). I can guarantee you my scholarship is solely merit-based.

Yea, what's the deal with FAFSA/NeedAccess? Their FAFSA Priority Deadline hasn't even happened yet if I'm remembering correctly.

Here's to hoping I end up with something... anything... last name L! I'm not expecting any merit aid, but just about anything would lock up Chicago for me. Right now, I'm still just basking in my (improbable?) acceptance.

I've been told it's a combination of merit and need, but they don't differentiate between the two
