Haha; must I go bump the 2013 thread? Learn not to feed the trolls. With all my waitlists and holds I am running out of places to park though.

Got the email yesterday...few hours lag time between decision made and the actual email. and i'm IN!!

Crazy...I didn't even write a why Duke statement, my LSAT isn't stellar, and I'm a Cali girl who knows nothing about the South. Excited to consider this as an option!!

They are just trying to make the acceptance that much better when it comes.

Lol at the new avatar. I haven't reached that level of troll-dom yet, but maybe soon. I see after visiting Duke you have no hesitations about going.

Well at least you can rest easy knowing that Duke really does have a holistic process that looks beyond the numbers and at the actual candidate. And I didn't need to write a why Duke for them to know I was a good fit! They are just perceptive! :)
Read: don't beat yourself up over "was my why Duke statement not good enough??"

Wow, great GPA. Are you URM? Usually they are sticklers for the LSAT.

Nope. Just good life story I guess, and some work experience. Goes to show, again, that numbers aren't everything and sometimes it's just the luck of the draw...

Eh, I'm pretty sure I'm doomed to the WL even if I survive the bells. Duke may not always need the LSAT for applicants, but the GPA's a must... only 5/54 got in with my GPA/LSAT combo last year (probably lower this year with the app increases) I've come to terms with being destined for a midwestern splitter concentration camp so it's all good

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
